Lexus rolls into the 2023 SEMA Show with three customized SUVs. A highlight among them is the LX 600 Premium Lexus Associated Accessory Product (AAP) Build, which is an off-roader with loads of cool accessories.
This attractive Lexus LX 600 Premium is for people interested in paddle boarding. It wears a color-shifting Aquamarine body wrap that evokes how the water can change hues depending on how the light hits the surface. There’s also a matte gray grille and black chrome trim for the windows and on the bumper.

The LX 600 rides on 33-inch Toyo Open Country A/T tires and 18-inch wheels. An awning extends from one side, and the trailer hitch holds a Yakima EXO OpenRange Deluxe camp kitchen that extends to become a cooktop, fridge, and sink. After a day in the water, this would be an excellent way to enjoy a meal, maybe with a freshly caught fish after a day of paddle boarding.
A mean-looking Lexus GX 550 wears a two-tone combination of Earth brown and black. It rides on black 18-inch wheels and 33-inch Toyo Open Country A/T tires wrap around them. Rock rails run along the sides, and there’s an aluminum skid plate underneath the SUV. A roof rack with a ladder holds a pair of cargo cases and recovery boards. The rear window accessory panel holds equipment like two-gallon liquid containers and a shovel. Lexus doesn’t touch the twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6 that makes 349 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque.
The company also brings a previous-gen GX 460 Premium AAP Build in an eye-catching Matte Yellow Saffron body wrap. This SUV has 34-inch Open Country A/T tires mounting to 18-inch wheels. For protection while off-roading, there are rock sliders and a front skid plate.
When you reach your destination in this rig, there’s a 10-foot double hammock and a mounting stand. A 63-quart weatherproof fridge/freezer fits in the rear cargo area and has a mount to keep it secure. A 12-volt portable air compressor and recovery kit are also part of the extra equipment.
The 2024 Lexus GX inaugurated a new generation of the SUV. It features a boxy, more rugged look than the previous version and now rides on the body-on-frame GA-F platform. There’s a standard full-time four-wheel-drive system and a lockable Torsen limited-slip center differential. The Overtrail versions also get a locking rear differential. While the one at SEMA is just a concept, the production-spec vehicle goes on sale in early 2024, and no pricing is available yet.

The German company Van Sports has created a customized version of the V 250d 4Matic called the Geotrek Edition. This modified vehicle is designed to be a small camper van for traveling across Europe.
To create the Geotrek, Van Sports started with a V 250d 4Matic van that is powered by a diesel engine and has all-wheel drive. They then made several upgrades, including a lifted suspension that provides an extra 2.047 inches (52 millimeters) of ground clearance. The vehicle is also equipped with 235/55 R18 General Grabber all-terrain tires that offer better grip when driving off-road. These tires are fitted on slotted wheels with a matte bronze finish.

Although it may look like a BMW R 100 RS, this motorcycle is actually a Suzuki 650 Burgman that has been customized to resemble the iconic BMW model. The creator, Thomas Janotta, has named it the “Suzuki R 65 Burgman RS,” a unique and intriguing addition to the world of custom replicas.
Based in the Swabian town of Beilstein, Janotta is a man of many talents, including optician, watchmaker, goldsmith, and inventor. Alongside this motorcycle project, he has also worked on several other creations in his garage.
Opinions are divided when it comes to this homage to the BMW R 100 RS. Some people find it cool, while others question the reasoning behind it. This is understandable because the Suzuki Burgman is quite different from the R 100 RS.
Janotta was drawn to the Suzuki 650 Burgman due to its impressive reputation. He initially wanted to use it as a towing vehicle for a racing kneeler team. However, certain obstacles prevented him from pursuing that idea.
He purchased the 650 Burgman for a mere 600 EUR. The affordable price was due to the previous owner falling off the scooter at a slow speed and deciding to sell it. Janotta then acquired the damaged bike and brought it into his garage.
As a BMW enthusiast, Janotta decided to give the Burgman a makeover with a 1981 R 100 RS fairing. After obtaining a gas tank, side covers, and a seat from the R 100 RS, Janotta successfully transformed the top half of the bike to resemble the BMW model.
However, fitting the fairing onto the scooter was not a straightforward process. It required custom brackets and adaptors to be created and installed. Additionally, since the Burgman lacked boxer heads, Janotta had to cover the air-cooling holes with sheet metal cladding taken from a Volkswagen Transporter.
In addition to the absence of a boxer engine, the modified Burgman features 15-inch front wheels. Other modifications include an access pipe for the integrated 18-liter fuel tank, a special gas pump for the Burgman’s engine, a slightly widened and shortened RS seat, and a relocated air filter now placed inside the tank. Janotta also added an R 100 GS handlebar to enhance the Burgman’s overall appearance.
What makes this custom build even more impressive is that it is compliant with TÜV regulations. With the original headlights, taillights, indicators, drivetrain, and chassis of the Burgman intact, it is roadworthy and ready for registration. The only non-original accessory is an approved muffler. However, the shortened rear end no longer accommodates two passengers.
