Review of the Range Rover Evoque

If you’re shorter than 6ft 2in, you should be comfortable sitting in the back seats of the Range Rover Evoque. However, the seats are slightly flat and the floor of the cabin is quite high, which might leave your thighs somewhat unsupported. The visibility from the back seats is also not as good as from the front. Nonetheless, most passengers should find the legroom and headroom acceptable, and it’s easy to access the back seats if you need to install child seats.

The driving position in the Evoque is higher than that of a typical compact SUV and has a hint of the classic Range Rover ‘command’ viewpoint. The design also gives it a sporty and cocooning feel. The outstretched legs and the high belt line make it feel special and distinct, as you would expect from a Range Rover.

When it comes to the front of the cabin, it’s important to differentiate between the Evoque up to November 2023 and the post-November 2023 model, as the latest update has significantly changed the interior. The update has affected the car’s minimalist yet luxurious ambiance.

Prior to the update, the car justified its £50,000 price tag. The HSE road test car in 2021 had leather panels on its dashboard and door cards, and instead of standard-fit Windsor leather seats, it had seats upholstered in Land Rover’s Kvadrat cloth, which contains recycled wool and suedecloth and is both tactile and visually appealing. Upon starting the car, various controls would light up, demonstrating the advanced technology it boasted, which was a far cry from Land Rover’s technology of a decade ago. The modern luxury buyer expects high technology, and the Evoque delivered plenty of it with style.

However, the 2024-model-year update has brought a cost-cutting drive that has diminished the appeal of the Evoque’s interior. The reductive new center console design replaced several controls with a slab of cheap plastic and a lid for the storage bin behind.

These figures are based on data from What Car?’s Target Price.

Currently, discounts as large as 23.7% are available.

Unlock Your iPhone Using Just Your Voice with This Hidden Feature

The idea of unlocking your iPhone without physically touching it and using only your voice may seem convenient, but there are some important things to consider when using this method. First, you need to be in close proximity to your iPhone for the device’s microphone to pick up your voice commands. Additionally, Voice Control turns off automatically when your iPhone screen is dim, so you have to wake it up by summoning Siri to start listening again. If you have manually disabled Voice Control, you can ask Siri to turn it on before speaking your unlock phrase.

It’s important to understand that leaving Voice Control enabled means your iPhone’s microphone is always on and listening for your commands. This means you may unintentionally trigger actions, regardless of which app or page is currently open on your iPhone. It’s also worth noting that others might be able to unlock your iPhone if they know your unlock phrase. To avoid these risks, consider turning off Voice Control when you don’t need it and only enable it when you anticipate needing hands-free control.

How to Prevent Random Requests for Your Location on Google Maps

If someone manages to request your location on Google Maps, it means they either guessed your Gmail address or found it on one of your social media accounts. In any case, it’s a good idea to review all the places online where you may have shared your Google email address or the phone number linked to Google Maps. Consider removing these details from public view or using a different email address and phone number if you can’t avoid sharing your contact information. Alternatively, if possible, adjust your account settings to only allow approved connections to view your accounts and personal information.

It’s important to note that only people who share their location with you should have the ability to request your location. If you receive an email notification requesting access to your whereabouts, you should also receive a notification email informing you that the person has shared their location with you. They will need to show you their email address and profile photo. Although these two things can be falsified, you can at least verify with friends and family that the accounts indeed belong to them and are not fake.

Sony’s Deep Earth Collection Adds New Colors to PS5 and DualSense

Starting October 4, PlayStation 5 owners will have the option to purchase the new Deep Earth Collection console covers and DualSense controllers. In the United States, the console covers will be priced at $59.99 and the new DualSense options at $74.99. The collection will also be available for purchase in Japan, the U.K., and multiple European countries. To make a purchase, customers will need to order directly from Sony’s PlayStation storefront or from select retailers, which have not been specified yet.

The controller remains unchanged in terms of functionality, with the only difference being the color. Similarly, the console covers are plastic shells that can be easily placed over the existing white cover of the console. Sony offers their own range of options, but there are also third-party designs available for those who prefer something different. One such option is a cover with a larger air vent for improved thermal management, as seen in this example.

The 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 Receives a Significant Boost in Range

Volkswagen has announced that the 2024 ID.4 model will have an improved range thanks to a complete overhaul of its power train and electric motors. The previous version, introduced in 2021, offered 201 horsepower for the single-motor variant and 295 horsepower for the all-wheel drive version with two motors. The updated 2024 model now delivers 282 horsepower for the rear-wheel drive version and approximately 330 horsepower for the all-wheel drive variants.

An additional advantage of the 2024 ID.4 is that it is manufactured in Volkswagen’s Chattanooga, Tennessee plant. As a result, it is expected to qualify for a $7,500 tax rebate, subject to eligibility criteria related to battery sourcing and vehicle assembly origin. The exact pricing details for the updated ID.4 have not yet been disclosed by VW. However, even a slight increase in the range, coupled with the substantial horsepower gains, is likely to be well received by consumers.

The Scientific Explanation Behind Saturn’s Long-Lasting Storms

The concentration of ammonia in different layers of Saturn’s atmosphere has provided scientists with valuable insights. It was observed that there is a higher amount of ammonia closer to the planet, indicating a system that moves ammonia through these layers. Imke de Pater, co-author from UC Berkeley, explained that radio observations help understand various processes such as heat transport, cloud formation, and convection in the atmospheres of giant planets on different scales.

The researchers discovered a correlation between ammonia levels and massive storms that have occurred on Saturn in the past. It is believed that ammonia moves through the atmosphere via evaporation and precipitation, similar to the water cycle on Earth. These storms can have long-lasting effects, with evidence of recent storms from 2010 as well as older storms that left detectable signatures in the atmosphere, dating back hundreds of years.

One fascinating finding is that despite both Saturn and Jupiter being gas giants primarily composed of hydrogen, the dynamics of their atmospheres are quite distinct. This highlights the vast amount of knowledge we still need to uncover about these magnificent planets.

Hyundai Motor To Establish Third Manufacturing Plant With the Help of GM Motors

Hyundai will have the ability to produce up to 1 million cars annually with the addition of this new plant

Hyundai Exter

  • Hyundai is set to acquire General Motors’ land, buildings, machinery, and manufacturing equipment.

  • The combined production capacity of all three plants will enable Hyundai to manufacture up to 1 million cars per year.

  • The establishment of operations at this new plant is scheduled for 2025.

  • As part of the expansion, Hyundai is considering introducing new electric vehicles (EVs) to the Indian market.

Hyundai has signed an asset purchase engagement (APA) to acquire General Motors’ (GM) plant in Talegaon, Maharashtra. With this acquisition, Hyundai will possess three manufacturing facilities in the country, including two in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu.

Hyundai Plant

Upon completion of the acquisition, Hyundai will take control of GM’s land, buildings, machinery, and manufacturing equipment at the plant. The carmaker aims to achieve a production capacity of up to 1 million units annually, with manufacturing operations starting in 2025. Currently, Hyundai’s two existing plants have a combined production capacity of 820,000 units annually. By increasing the GM plant’s current capacity of 130,000 units per year, Hyundai plans to meet its overall goal.

Although the APA has been signed, the completion of the acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and fulfillment of certain conditions.

2023 Hyundai i20 spied

Currently, Hyundai has 13 car models available in the Indian market, including two EVs – IONIQ 5 and Kona electric. Upgrades for models such as the Creta, i20, and Kona EV are expected to be launched next year.

Hyundai has also announced plans to launch a new EV specifically for the Indian market. A Hyundai Creta EV is a strong possibility as it has been spotted testing on multiple occasions. Additionally, Hyundai is expected to introduce an MPV with a similar price range to the Carens as an alternative to the Toyota Innova.

How To Remove Apps on Apple CarPlay

If you want to have more control over your CarPlay menu even when you’re not in your car, Apple has made it possible for you to uninstall apps. However, it may not be clear where to start, especially since there is no dedicated CarPlay app pre-installed on your phone. Here are the steps you need to follow:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Select the General menu, then tap on the CarPlay menu.
  3. From the provided menu, tap on the name of your car and then hit Customize.
  4. To remove unwanted apps from the CarPlay menu, tap on the red minus symbol located to the left of the app’s name, and then click on the Remove button.

If an app does not have a red minus symbol next to it, it means that it cannot be removed from CarPlay. The next time you connect your iPhone to your car and start it, the app you deleted will no longer be displayed on the CarPlay screen.

If you change your mind, you can restore these apps at any time using the same process mentioned above. Additionally, you can also rearrange the order of the apps on your CarPlay display by tapping and dragging them using the three-line symbol on the right. Now that you know how to remove apps from CarPlay, you may want to explore nine other CarPlay tricks.
