Easy Steps to Check If Nintendo Switch Servers Are Down

From time to time, Nintendo’s servers may experience issues, but before assuming that the problem lies with them, it’s important to rule out any potential connectivity issues on your end.
To start, ensure that your internet connection is working and that your Nintendo Switch is properly connected to it. You can easily confirm if your internet is functioning by using another device on the same network and checking if it can access the internet without any problems. If you’re connected to Wi-Fi but still unable to access the web, it is likely that the issue is with your internet connection. In that case, you may need to reset your router or contact your internet service provider for assistance.

If your internet is working fine, follow these steps on your Nintendo Switch:

  1. Navigate to the System Settings.
  2. Scroll down and select Internet.
  3. In the Internet Settings menu, you should see your connection listed at the top, marked with a blue checkmark if properly connected. If not, follow the on-screen instructions to establish a connection.
  4. Even if you see the checkmark, it is still recommended to scroll down and select ‘Test Connection.’ This will verify if your Switch is properly interfacing with your internet network.

It is also important to consider the placement of your Wi-Fi router. Make sure it is positioned in a location where your Nintendo Switch can receive a strong and stable connection.

The carmaker has responded to reports of heavy benefits on the Toyota Hilux worth many lakhs

Toyota Hilux

  • Several reports claimed that the Hilux is available with discounts of up to Rs 10 lakh.

  • Toyota has confirmed that the reports are incorrect and there are no discounts available with the Hilux.

  • It gets a 2.8-litre diesel engine with manual and automatic transmissions and 4X4 as standard.

  • Offered in just two variants with comforts like cruise control, dual-zone climate control and powered driver’s seat.

  • The Hilux is priced from 30.40 lakh to Rs 37.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

Several reports have been suggesting heavy discounts on the Toyota Hilux ranging from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh, depending on the variant. However, Toyota has denied the validity of any such offer claims.

In an official statement, Toyota has responded stating: With regards to certain media reports on the Toyota Hilux being offered at a highly discounted price, this is to officially communicate that the reports are incorrect. Toyota Kirloskar Motor continues to strictly follow the price list officially announced by the company which ranges from Rs. 30,40,000 – Rs. 37,90,000/- (ex-showroom).

The claimed discounts

Toyota Hilux

According to the reports, dealers are offering the top-end automatic variant of the Hilux for an on-road price of around Rs 30 lakh instead of the regular on-road price that is around Rs 44 lakh. This would have made it cost similar to the fully-loaded Isuzu V-Cross. The deal definitely sounds very attractive, but has been officially denounced by the manufacturer. In fact, there are no known offers on the pickup and it even has an average waiting period of three months.

2024 Toyota Supra And GR86 Honor MkIV, Initial D With New Special Editions

The Toyota GR86 and GR Supra are two sports cars with a long history. The Supra nameplate has been around since the 1980s, and the iconic fourth generation from the mid-90s is especially beloved by enthusiasts. The GR86 owes its existence to the Sprinter/Corolla AE86, even though the two cars don’t technically share a name. Now, both cars are getting special edition packages for 2024 that pay homage to their heritage.

The Supra’s 45th Anniversary Edition trim celebrates the nameplate as a whole, but also specifically references the MkIV Supra with certain unique features. The Mikan Blast paint job, which translates to orange in Japanese (referring to the fruit, not the color), is a subtle nod to the MkIV. It’s similar to the Plasma Orange Edition released overseas, and although Toyota hasn’t confirmed it, the designers likely took inspiration from Paul Walker’s Supra in The Fast And The Furious.

In addition to the orange paint, the Supra 45th Anniversary Edition also features black 19-inch wheels, a black graphics package along the door panels, and a gloss black adjustable rear wing. The rear wing is another subtle reference to the MkIV Supra, even though it’s smaller in size compared to the original.

The 45th Anniversary Edition package is available for the Supra 3.0 Premium grade, with either the eight-speed automatic or the six-speed manual transmission. The turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine remains unchanged, delivering 382 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque.

The Toyota GR86 Trueno Edition pays tribute to the original Sprinter Trueno – also known as the AE86 – which gained fame through its appearance in the anime Initial D. The GR86 Trueno Edition features a black-and-white, two-tone look reminiscent of the original, along with new 18-inch wheels, “Trueno” badges on the front and rear bumpers, and a matte black graphics package on the door panels and hood.

Unlike the Supra, the GR86 Trueno Edition also receives some performance upgrades. The Performance Pack, which debuts for 2024, includes upgraded Sachs dampers and Brembo brakes. This pack comes standard on the Trueno Edition, but owners of 2022 and 2023 GR86 models can also retrofit the option onto their cars.

For added safety, the 2024 GR86 with a manual transmission comes equipped with the new Active Safety Suite, which includes features such as automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and high-beam headlight assist.

Both the Supra 45th Anniversary Edition and the GR86 Trueno Edition will be produced in limited quantities. Toyota plans to build just 900 examples of the Supra, with half in Mikan Orange and the other half in Absolute Zero white. There will be even fewer GR86 Trueno Editions, with only 860 examples available. These special edition sports cars are set to be released in winter, but pricing details have not been announced yet.

Twitter Faces $250 Million Lawsuit Over Alleged Music Copyright Violations

The National Music Publishers Association (NMPA) has filed a lawsuit against Twitter, seeking damages of $150,000 for each of the approximately 1,700 songs it claims have been infringed upon. The allegations made in the lawsuit are strong, with the NMPA stating that “Twitter knows perfectly well that neither it nor users of the Twitter platform have secured licenses for the rampant use of music being made on its platform.” Alongside the monetary damages, the NMPA is also asking the court to immediately stop Twitter’s copyright-infringing activities.

It is worth noting that the NMPA asserts that it has sent formal notices regarding copyright infringement to Twitter since 2021, resulting in over 300,000 tweets being flagged for violating copyright laws. Additionally, other copyright holders have reportedly sent hundreds of thousands of similar notices to Twitter. However, the lawsuit alleges that Twitter consistently disregards known repeat infringers and the infringements themselves.

The lawsuit accuses Twitter of failing to take action by removing the problematic content or preventing public access to it. According to the lawsuit, “Twitter views itself, not the law, as the arbiter of what content is permitted on the Twitter platform.” At the time of writing, neither Twitter nor its new CEO Linda Yaccarino has made a statement regarding the matter. This lawsuit deals a significant blow to Twitter, especially considering the cost-cutting measures it has implemented recently – including laying off two-thirds of its workforce – in its pursuit of profitability. Furthermore, it sets a potentially detrimental precedent for Elon Musk’s ambitions of transforming Twitter into a creative content hub.
