Cars with a heads-up display under Rs 20 lakh

A growing variety of luxury and premium features are being democratised to mass-market models in recent years. Included in that list is the heads-up display that first came to the masses with the Kia Seltos back in 2019. Thanks to carmakers such as Maruti and Toyota, a heads-up display today is available in cars priced under Rs 10 lakh as well. Let’s first see what the feature offers:

What Is A Heads-up Display (HUD)?

Heads-up display

There are a few types of heads-up displays available on cars based on their prices and segments. Most mass-market cars with this feature use a transparent panel which is placed on the driver side of the dashboard, falling virtually in line with the road ahead. Let’s now have a look at the models which offer you a HUD under Rs 20 lakh:

BMW Is Updating the Design of the M3 Touring

Recent spy shots reveal that the BMW M3 Touring is undergoing a styling refresh. The wagon model is now covered in camouflage at the front as BMW gives the M3 lineup a mid-cycle makeover.

The front bumper and part of the hood of the M3 Touring are still camouflaged, suggesting that there might not be any visible design changes. However, BMW plans to update the car’s headlight graphics. As for the rear, there seem to be no significant design modifications, as BMW didn’t bother concealing it.

The Decaying Dodge Chargers in This Car Graveyard Desperately Seek Rescuing

In this video, you will either see the ultimate muscle car haven or the epitome of car junkyard hell. Located in Oregon, Illinois, Mopar City specializes in Chrysler corporation vehicles, with a particular focus on those from the 1960s and ’70s.

If you’re looking for Dodge Chargers, there’s probably no better place to find them than here. However, don’t expect them to be in pristine condition. Most of these Chargers are afflicted with rust and are lacking their engines, with grass sprouting where the powerplant used to be.

The car graveyard is roughly organized by make and model. The Chargers are in one section, while Challengers and Plymouth Barracudas can be found in another.

All of these cars are up for sale, as the owner is eager to offload the entire collection. But the sad reality is that only a handful of them appear salvageable, and even then, extensive restoration work would be necessary. However, for those in search of project car body panels, there may be some viable options. Also, certain parts like bumpers, trim, and lights are still usable. Unfortunately, some of the vehicles have deteriorated to the point where there are hardly any components left.

This car graveyard serves as a reminder that nothing lasts forever. These vehicles were once purchased and cherished by individuals who saw something extraordinary in them. Yet, over time, they ended up at Mopar City, decaying day after day.

The video concludes with a drone providing an aerial view of Mopar City, offering a sense of the vast number of cars present and the different sections where they are located.

In the next video of this series, viewers will get a glimpse inside the various buildings on the site, which are filled with parts, particularly for Chargers, Challengers, and Barracudas.

Meanwhile, Dodge is gearing up to revive the look of its second-generation Charger from the 1968 to 1970 model years. Rumor has it that the new Charger will come equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine and may even be available as an electric vehicle.

Watch An Impressive Mad Max MFP Kwaka Z1000 Replica Perform a Smoky Burnout

When attending car shows, it’s not uncommon to come across DeLoreans that have been meticulously transformed into faithful replicas of the iconic time machine from Back to the Future. And who can blame the DeLorean owners? Finding joy in recreating beloved vehicles is a lot of fun, especially for DIY enthusiasts who enjoy building and taking things apart.

Occasionally, you might stumble upon a Mad Max replica, although not as frequently as the DeLorean time machines. Personally, I’ve only seen Pursuit Special MFP Interceptors in person. Unfortunately, I’ve never had the opportunity to see a faithful replica of Goose’s MFP Kwaka KZ1000—that’s where YouTube comes in.

At the 2023 Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show in the West Midlands, UK, a lifelong Mad Max fan named Phil Cotton unveiled his dream build. In the beginning of the video, he briefly shares the story of how he always wanted to build this bike, but only got around to it as a pensioner because he finally had the time.

He doesn’t delve into the details of how he built the replica, but he mentions that he made every effort to make it as close as possible to what was seen in the movie. While I’m not an expert on Mad Max, it looks and sounds pretty impressive to me. The only difficulty he encountered during the recreation was finding appropriate rearsets—he acknowledges that they might not be exactly like what was shown, but he is still satisfied with the end result.

Overall, he estimates that the bike, gear, and necessary vehicle registration to bring his dream to life cost around £13,000, which is approximately $15,801 when converted in October 2023, if you’re curious.

As mentioned earlier, this video not only allows us to see the bike, but also hear its powerful engine during a thrilling burnout. For the full experience, it’s recommended to wear headphones to truly appreciate the Z1000 engine sound. However, be mindful of the volume during the burnout if you choose to watch this way.

Kia Forte Successor Spy Video Shows Sedan Waiting At Red Light In California

A latest spy video reveals that despite the popularity of SUVs, Kia is still committed to sedans in the United States. The spy video shows a new three-box car being tested in California. Although it is not confirmed, it appears to be larger than the K3 compact sedan that was unveiled in August. It also looks different from the K5, which suggests that it could be a successor to the Forte. If this is the case, it is expected to arrive in 2025, as the 2024 model year is already on sale in the US.

There are speculations that the new sedan might come with a name change. Kia is reportedly considering dropping the Forte name and adopting the K4 name, following the trend of using alphanumeric designations. Similar to the Optima, which is now known as the K5, the smaller sedan could also receive a simpler name. It is worth noting that the K4 name is not entirely new, as there was a sedan bearing this name in China from 2014 to 2020.

The prototype seen in the spy video appears to have the complete production body and wide lights both at the front and rear. It rides on two-tone wheels that seem to be borrowed from the Hyundai Elantra, and its rear door handles are subtly integrated near the C-pillar. The partially exposed cabin of the test vehicle reveals a side-by-side screen layout, which is becoming more common in 2023.

It is unclear when the K4 will be unveiled in the US market, but it is unlikely to happen anytime soon since the 2024 Forte was announced recently. Kia has confirmed that the larger K5 sedan will receive a mid-cycle facelift by the end of this year. Additionally, the brand plans to introduce an updated Carnival minivan with a hybrid powertrain in the same timeframe.

In other news, Kia will be discontinuing the smaller Rio after the 2023 model year in the US, but it will be replaced by the new K3 sedan in other markets.

Toyota GR GT3 Concept Spotted Testing on the Track with a Muscular Sound

A recent spy video captures Toyota conducting tests for their latest sports car. Despite being heavily camouflaged, the unmistakable outline of the Toyota GR GT3 concept can be seen. This car is being developed for both racing and regular road use.

Filmed from a distance at the Motegi motorsport venue, the video doesn’t provide much insight into the coupe’s design. However, we can still make out its compact size on the track. Additionally, the long, flat hood and prominent wing are clearly visible. The car’s aggressive sound, resembling that of a V8 engine, reverberates through the video.

Watch Ferrari Roma Test Mule Evaluate Possible V12 For 812 Replacement

A recently captured video shows Ferrari’s ongoing development of a new supercar, with distinct features hinting at a V12 engine that will most likely power the successor to the 812 Superfast.

The test mule, captured on public roads, emits a delightful engine growl enhanced by its unique tailpipes and throaty exhaust note. The camouflage wrap conceals the modified Roma body, which has a longer nose design to keep the powertrain hidden.

Check Out the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato’s Spectacular Off-Road Jump

The Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, marketed as an off-road-capable version of the supercar, has shown its resilience and agility in a video that features a breathtaking jump.

In the video, the first test for the Sterrato is taking it to a challenging rock quarry in the United Kingdom, specially designed for off-road vehicles. However, the rugged terrain proves to be too much for the Huracan. The car’s lower fascia is bent due to the rocks, and the uneven ground even causes one wheel to lift off the ground. Realizing the intensity of the environment, the driver decides to find another location for further testing.
