The Mercedes-Benz EQB has undergone a significant overhaul for the 2024 model year. Following in the footsteps of its combustion-engined counterpart, the GLB, this electric crossover now features a refreshed exterior, upgraded technology, and new functionality. It will be available for orders this autumn, with deliveries starting early next year.
One noticeable change is the new black front grille, which incorporates Mercedes’ signature star pattern. Furthermore, the front light bar has been redesigned and now joins the LED daytime running lights. At the rear, the rounded rear light design has been replaced with a straighter, horizontal arrangement.
Inside the EQB, the star pattern can be seen on the dashboard and door trim pieces, giving it a more luxurious feel. Additionally, the interior features a new touch-capacitive three-spoke steering wheel and the option of open-pore wood trim. These updates bring the EQB in line with the top-tier S-Class and EQS models.
There are also new options available for the 2024 EQB. Buyers can now choose a self-stabilizing trailer hitch, which has a maximum payload rating of 1400kg for front-wheel-drive models and 1700kg for four-wheel-drive models. However, this option is only available if buyers forego the third row of seats.
Another addition to the options list is a Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos. This system offers occupants a choice of four different “sound experiences,” which alter the tone and acoustics of songs. The EQB also comes with the Mercedes Me Plug & Charge function as standard. This feature enables automatic charging once the vehicle is plugged in, eliminating the need for drivers to authenticate themselves beforehand.
The latest-generation MBUX interface, adopted by the new EQB, makes navigation easier. It features two 10.0-inch touchscreens with a cleaner and simpler design compared to previous versions. Additionally, users can choose from three display styles, enhancing the overall user experience.
