Everything To Know About The English Electric Lightning Jet

The greatest protection is an efficient offense, they are saying, and so fighters/interceptors have been developed that would deter any assault on the bases they known as house.

This line of considering led to the English Electric Lightning, however the plane took some appreciable time to return to fruition. How New York’s New MLS Stadium Plans To Go Fully Electric

The United Nations Environment Programme reports, “Building and managing a sport facility and operating an event uses energy and can contribute to air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and waste generation, as well as to ozone-layer depletion, habitat and biodiversity loss, soil erosion and water pollution.”

In 2016, FIFA confirmed its pledge to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UN FCCC) during COP26 to produce net zero emissions by 2040. In line with this, FIFA promoted the Qatar World Cup as the first climate-neutral tournament in 2022. However, a year later, Reuters cited reports from the Swiss Fairness Commission, which claimed FIFA’s carbon neutrality claims during the 2022 World Cup were misleading. Carbon Market Watch estimated that the total carbon footprint of permanent stadiums constructed in Qatar could have amounted to 1.6 MtCO2e, eight times more than initially reported.

Among professional sports arenas, per Forbes, the Climate Pledge Arena became the first arena in the world to earn net zero carbon certification in 2023. Certified by the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), the home of the Seattle Krakens required a massive overhaul in its design to achieve this, such as ripping out natural gas piping and reinventing its cooling and heating processes.

By proving that fully electric stadiums are possible, NYCFC could potentially provide a framework for how to successfully build communities around sustainable sports arenas from scratch.

2023 U.S. MXoN TEAM ANNOUNCED

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has officially announced the 2023 Motocross of Nations team for the U.S. The team consists of three highly-skilled motocross racers: Aaron Plessinger, R.J. Hampshire, and Christian Craig. The announcement came after speculation that there would be no U.S. team at the event due to funding and testing constraints. Despite these challenges, key figures stepped up to support the effort. All team members are from KTM and Husqvarna teams.

The Motocross of Nations event will take place in Ernée, France from October 6-8. The U.S. team is looking to defend their championship title from last year’s competition. AMA Director of Racing Mike Pelletier expressed his excitement about the team’s potential and their eagerness to represent the United States.

Aaron Plessinger

Aaron Plessinger, the team captain, will be racing in the MXGP Class. This will be his second time representing Team USA in the Motocross of Nations event. Plessinger expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to race for his country and his determination to live up to the team’s past success.

R.J. Hampshire will be making his debut appearance in the Motocross of Nations competition, racing in the MX2 Class. Hampshire is excited to represent his country and aims to perform well.

RJ Hampshire

Christian Craig will also be representing the U.S. in the Motocross of Nations for the first time, competing in the Open Class. He expressed his honor and commitment to making the country proud alongside his teammates.

Roger DeCoster, an AMA Motocross Hall of Fame Legend, will manage the U.S. team. DeCoster, who leads KTM, GASGAS, and Husqvarna’s racing efforts in the AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross series, has a distinguished career in motocross. He has taken part in six victorious Motocross of Nations teams and is a five-time motocross world champion.

DeCoster mentioned the challenges faced in assembling the team due to the long race season, injury concerns, and riders switching teams. However, he expressed his happiness that Plessinger, Hampshire, and Craig eagerly accepted the opportunity to represent the USA. The team is looking forward to competing against the French Team and showing the world their capabilities at the stunning Ernée track.

The FIM Motocross of Nations is a prestigious motorsports event that has been held since 1947. National teams from around the world come together to compete for the championship title based on a combined score. The U.S. team holds the record for the most overall team victories in the Motocross of Nations, with 23 wins, 21 of which were achieved under DeCoster’s management. The defending champion, Team USA, aims to secure another victory this year.

WOLF: BACK IN THE DAY

This is Sunrise Cycle Park in Adelanto in 1981. It was my first big test with Yamaha and Ed Scheidler, who I worked with for years until he retired. Ed was the first person I worked with who shot video of the testing, and then we’d review it in his box van. He was a stickler, always asking us what the bike was doing. He’d make suspension changes, and then would again cross examine our explanation. Half the time he wouldn’t change anything and if you claimed you felt a difference he’d crucify you…all in a good way. He taught us how to test, evaluate and think about what the motorcycle was doing. This is the 1981 Yamaha YZ465.
