Florida Corvette Driver Somehow Survives Being Ejected After Street Racing Crash

The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for the driver of a Ford Mustang that was involved in a street racing crash with a 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. The incident occurred on Saturday morning in Marion County and resulted in the Corvette breaking into several pieces.

According to authorities, the Corvette was cut off by the Mustang while they were racing on the westbound side of State Route 200. The Corvette then reportedly collided with a 2016 Toyota Prius before traveling off the road at high speed, hitting a utility pole, and then a tree. The 38-year-old male driver, who has not been identified, was ejected from the vehicle and thrown 154 feet away from the crash site. He was taken to HCA Florida Ocala Hospital with critical injuries, as reported by the Ocala StarBanner.

Subaru Teases “Sharper” WRX TR Model Ahead of October 7 Debut

Subaru will be unveiling the 2024 Subaru WRX TR at Subiefest Florida on October 7. The car will be revealed by Travis Pastrana and Bucky Lasek.

Subaru claims that the TR model will be “sharper and more enthusiast-focused,” but the company has not released any specific details about the car. The only teaser image available shows a set of wheels with a light gunmetal finish and red Brembo brake calipers.

It is unclear where the TR model will fit in the current WRX lineup, which includes the WRX, Premium, Limited, and GT trims. The GT trim, which is the highest trim level, features electronically controlled dampers with Comfort, Normal, and Sport settings. The car also has a Drive Mode Select system that allows for customizable settings for steering feel and damper settings. The GT trim is priced at $44,415, including the $1,020 destination fee.

The latest generation of the WRX debuted in 2022. The car is powered by a turbocharged 2.4-liter flat-four engine that produces 271 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Buyers have the option of a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT with Subaru Performance Transmission branding.
