Fabio Quartararo On An Injury Streak But On The Road To Recovery

During the start of the 2023 Dutch GP, Fabio Quartararo was not in the best condition due to a twisted ankle and a fractured toe. Despite his injuries, he managed to secure a podium finish, taking third place in the sprint race. The first and second positions were claimed by Marco Bezzecchi and Pecco Bagnaia respectively.

However, things took a different turn for Quartararo later in the race. On the third lap, he crashed and aggravated his injuries, further displacing the fracture in his toe. It was later revealed that Quartararo had injured his ankle and toe while jogging in Amsterdam just before the race. Although his doctors deemed him fit to race, the crash proved otherwise.

The crash also involved Johann Zarco, who was also forced out of the race as a result. Both riders were taken to the medical center, with Quartararo wearing a sling around his left arm. Quartararo took full responsibility for the accident, while Zarco only suffered minor pains and bruises. Unfortunately, for Zarco, his three-podium streak was ended by Quartararo’s crash.

The good news is that the arm injury is not too serious and is expected to heal quickly. However, Quartararo’s foot requires surgery and will need more attention from doctors. In an interview, Quartararo mentioned that he doesn’t believe he could race at the moment as the foot injury is quite painful. He plans to rest and aims to be ready for the Silverstone GP.

Fortunately, Quartararo is not expected to miss any races due to his injuries. The second part of the MotoGP season is approaching, with the next race taking place at Silverstone in early August 2023.
