Porsche 911 S/T: Power-Packed and Lightweight

When it comes to performance, the Porsche 911 S/T doesn’t disappoint. By shedding weight, this model boasts impressive performance metrics. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 186 miles per hour. The wheels, measuring 20 inches in the front and 21 inches in the back, are made of lightweight magnesium.

If that’s not enough to entice you, Porsche has an optional Heritage Design Package available. This package includes a unique “Shore Blue Metallic” color, classic Porsche crests, and the ability to customize the car’s racing number.

In addition, Porsche is offering buyers the opportunity to purchase a watch with their car. The Chronograph 1 is priced at $13,500. The Porsche 911 S/T itself costs $290,000 (plus $1,650 for delivery). The cars are expected to hit the tracks across the country in the next Spring. Only 1,963 units of the Porsche 911 S/T will be produced, paying homage to the year the 911 was originally introduced. Learn more about the 911’s evolution here.

Hyundai N Cars To Receive Lighter and Stronger Carbon Fiber Hybrid Wheels

To tackle the weight issue of the Ioniq 5 N, Hyundai is collaborating with wheel specialist Dymag and composites material experts at Hankuk Carbon to develop substantially lighter wheels for their high-performance electric crossover. At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a prototype for a 21-inch lightweight wheel was unveiled.

These wheels, designed and engineered by Hyundai, feature a hybrid construction that combines a carbon fiber outer rim with a forged metallic centerpiece. This innovative design allows the engineers to reduce the weight by approximately 40 to 50 percent compared to a regular alloy wheel of the same size. Besides being lighter, the carbon fiber wheels are also stiffer and more durable, while reducing rolling inertia.
