Steam Deck OLED Review: Worth The Weight

Many handheld gaming devices use Windows 11 with additional software to improve the user experience, but Windows doesn’t work ideally with controllers and touchscreens. Valve’s solution to this issue was to create SteamOS, a Linux-based platform that offers a smooth and streamlined interface similar to that of Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch.

When using Steam’s own storefront and software ecosystem, the Steam Deck provides the best handheld gaming experience. The device boots up quickly and allows you to launch games without any hassle, offering a seamless experience like that of a game console. Despite running on Linux, the Steam Deck can play most games designed for Windows through a compatibility layer.

The only downside is that installing games from sources other than Steam, or alternative game launcher/stores such as Epic Games, Humble App, or GOG Galaxy, requires a somewhat convoluted process. This is understandable as Valve aims to promote the use of the Steam store and has tailored the entire experience around playing games from Steam.

All The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Buying A New Car At The End Of A Calendar Year

Be aware of the pros and cons before purchasing a new car at the end of the year.

Should you buy a new car at the end of a year?

Buying a car is a significant investment, and choosing the right time for the purchase is crucial. While festive seasons like Diwali are popular for buying a new car, there is ongoing debate about whether it’s advantageous to buy one at the end of the year. Here, we weigh the pros and cons, starting with the benefits:

Big Discounts

Discounts on cars

One of the main reasons for buying a new car by the end of the year is the availability of significant discounts. Car manufacturers and dealers aim to clear the current year’s stock to make room for new inventory in the coming year. This often leads to substantial discounts on the current models, allowing buyers to potentially afford a higher variant or a model from a higher segment.

Avoid Price Hikes And Waiting Times

price hikes on cars

Buying a car at the end of the year helps in evading potential price hikes implemented by manufacturers at the start of the new year. It also decreases the wait time for popular models in the upcoming year.

Additional Benefits

Car insurance

Dealers looking to clear their existing inventory often provide additional deals and benefits, such as discounts on warranty, service packages, free accessories, and even insurance.

Now, let’s review some of the downsides of buying a new car at this time:

Reduced Resale Value

Purchasing a car at the year-end means it’s considered a year older when the new year begins. This can impact the car’s perceived value at resale or trade-in, as it will be considered a year older despite being only a few days or weeks old. However, if you plan to keep the vehicle long-term, the advantages mentioned earlier may outweigh this concern.

Limited Inventory

Cars at stockyard

Towards the end of the year, carmakers limit the rollout of fresh inventory to dealers, resulting in a restricted selection of variants, engines, and colors. This may require waiting for the new year’s inventory, potentially leading to reduced discounts, increased pricing, and fewer offers.

These are the advantages and disadvantages of buying a new car at the end of the year. Are you considering a new car purchase now or later? Feel free to share your thoughts with us in the comments.

The future comes as standard – new X2 rolls off assembly line for first time in Regensburg

+++ E-mobility ramp-up at BMW Group Plant Regensburg in full swing  +++ Additional production volume means adding night shift, three-shift operation +++ Plant Director Armin Ebner on start of production: “Day of encouragement for the team”

Regensburg. It has only been a few weeks since the first photos of the all-new BMW X2 went around the world: Now, it is rolling off the assembly line at BMW Group Plant Regensburg. From now on, different types of drive train will be flexibly manufactured in Regensburg on a single production line – from models with internal combustion engines, to plug-in hybrids, to fully-electric vehicles. Up to 1,000 BMW 1 Series, BMW X1 and BMW X2 models are currently coming off the production line at BMW Group Plant Regensburg every workday – destined for customers worldwide.

“With production of the BMW X2 and its fully-electric variant, the BMW iX2, we continue to set the pace, here in Regensburg, for the ramp-up of electromobility,” confirmed Plant Director Armin Ebner. “That we are now building a second fully-electric model here in Upper Palatinate will boost the site’s production volume.” The plant director underlined everyone is very proud of the new vehicle and the tremendous team effort that went into it: “For our team, today’s start of production is a day of encouragement.” After all, production specialists in Regensburg have done everything possible in the past few months to integrate the new BMW X2 “silently” into ongoing standard production – from the initial prototypes and pre-series, through extensive quality inspections, up to and including comprehensive skills development for the whole manufacturing team.

“Our plant is working at full steam. The additional production volumes mean we are now adding a night shift at the Regensburg location, effective immediately – with three-shift operation going forward,” added Ebner.
By the end of the year, the BMW Group will invest more than 350 million euros in vehicle production in Regensburg, creating permanent jobs for around 500 new employees at the site.

Lean, green, digital: With BMW iFACTORY, the BMW Group is also setting standards and redefining the future of automotive production at the Regensburg location. For example, BMW Group Plant Regensburg is the automotive industry’s first plant worldwide to use an end-to-end digitalised and automated process for inspection, processing and marking of painted vehicle surfaces in standard production that relies on robots controlled by AI (artificial intelligence). For the plant, this represents another step towards the digital, intelligently connected factory.

BMW Group Plants Regensburg and Wackersdorf

The BMW Group has viewed itself for decades as the benchmark for production technology and operational excellence in vehicle construction – including at its locations in Regensburg and Wackersdorf.
The BMW Group vehicle plant in Regensburg has been in operation since 1986 and is one of more than 30 BMW Group production locations worldwide. A total of up to 1,000 vehicles of the BMW 1 Series, BMW X1 and BMW X2 models come off the production line at Plant Regensburg every workday – destined for customers all over the world. Different types of drive trains are flexibly manufactured on a single production line – from vehicles with internal combustion engines to plug-in hybrids, to fully-electric models.

High-voltage batteries for the electric models built in Regensburg are also produced locally, in direct proximity to the vehicle plant. They are assembled at the electric component production facility, which opened in 2021 at the Leibnizstrasse location.
BMW Innovation Park Wackersdorf also belongs to the Regensburg site. The 55-hectare campus built in the 1980s was originally intended as a nuclear reprocessing facility. The BMW Group has located its cockpit production there, as well as its parts supply for overseas plants. In addition to BMW as the largest employer, several other companies are also based at Innovation Park Wackersdorf. A total of around 2,500 employees work there.

The BMW Group core staff at the Regensburg and Wackersdorf locations in eastern Bavaria is made up of around 9,000 employees, including more than 300 apprentices.

# 2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift Spied With ADAS, 360-degree Camera & More

*The updated compact SUV gets a major design overhaul along with additional features*

![2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift Spied](https://stimg.cardekho.com/images/cms/carnewsimages/editorimages/650d4f0ec21ed.jpg)

– Gets design changes including new LED headlights, DRLs and a new grille.
– Radar up front hints at the presence of ADAS features.
– Could get the 10.25-inch touchscreen from the Kia Seltos.
– Expected to be priced from Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).

The [Hyundai Creta facelift](https://www.cardekho.com/hyundai/creta-2024) has been spotted again under camouflage, giving us more hints at its updated design language. The second-generation [Creta](https://www.cardekho.com/hyundai/creta) has been on sale in India since 2020 and this will be its first facelift. This update will bring a lot of changes to the popular compact SUV, and here is what the new spy video tells us:

## Updated Design

![2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift Front](https://stimg.cardekho.com/pwa/img/spacer3x2.png)
The India-spec Creta facelift will have a unique design, different from the facelifted model sold overseas. The spotted test mule gets a new set of LED headlights and DRLs which seem to be bigger and more squarish. The front grille also seems to be redesigned with new inserts.

![2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift Rear](https://stimg.cardekho.com/pwa/img/spacer3x2.png)
The side profile will look more or less the same as the current model, but the production-spec version should get a new set of alloy wheels and the rear profile here gets a split LED tail lamp setup with sequential turn indicators.

## New Features

![2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift Camera](https://stimg.cardekho.com/pwa/img/spacer3x2.png)
The dashboard of the updated Creta could not be seen in the spy video due to its camouflage but we can see that it sports a host of new features. It will get type-C charging ports for rear passengers, a 360-degree camera and a suite of ADAS features (hinted by the ADAS radar in the front bumper). The top-spec variants can also borrow the 10.25-inch digital driver’s screen from the [Kia Seltos](https://www.cardekho.com/kia/seltos).

![2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift Panoramic Sunroof](https://stimg.cardekho.com/pwa/img/spacer3x2.png)
It will also retain the features of the current Creta, which include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, and an 8-way power adjustable driver seat. For passenger safety, it will continue to have six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC) and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

## What Will Power It?

![2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift Side](https://stimg.cardekho.com/pwa/img/spacer3x2.png)
It will most likely retain the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (115PS/144Nm) and the 1.5-litre diesel engine (116PS/250Nm). Both these units get a 6-speed manual transmission. For automatic options, the former gets a CVT and the latter is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

[Hyundai](https://www.cardekho.com/cars/Hyundai) can also introduce the Verna’s 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine which will replace the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol unit that was discontinued earlier. This unit makes 160PS/253Nm and should be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed DCT.

## Launch, Price & Rivals

![2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift Side](https://stimg.cardekho.com/pwa/img/spacer3x2.png)
The updated Creta could arrive in 2024 at an expected starting price of around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). New Toyota Land Cruiser is Teased with Classic FJ62 Design Cues [UPDATE]

Update: Toyota has released seven additional teaser images showcasing the exterior details, as well as a glimpse of the center console. One notable feature is the four-wheel-drive toggle switch, similar to the Lexus GX, suggesting that the new Land Cruiser will have all-wheel drive at all times.

Toyota is once again building excitement for its new Land Cruiser with another teaser that pays homage to the past. Fortunately, the latest image of the upcoming off-roader provides a close look at the front fascia and other features, without the use of silhouettes.

2025 Toyota Land Cruiser Teaser
2025 Toyota Land Cruiser Teaser
2025 Toyota Land Cruiser Teaser

Shown alongside a Land Cruiser FJ62, it is evident that the new model, which is likely to debut for the 2025 model year, draws inspiration from its 1980s predecessor. The rectangular headlight array flanks an egg-crate grille, with the brand name “TOYOTA” replacing the oval emblem at the center. Additionally, the front fenders have a pleasingly blocky design, while the hood wrapping onto the bodysides adds a modern touch.

The robust front bumper deviates from the retro theme, as expected due to modern crash standards. The new Land Cruiser features a thick, contrast-color center section, and although the lower front end is not fully visible, the bumper appears to be positioned relatively high to preserve approach angles. A glimpse of a skid plate can also be seen in the middle.

This teaser allows for clear differentiation between the Toyota Land Cruiser and its Lexus GX counterpart. As seen in the previous teaser, the Land Cruiser’s upkicked beltline and upright windshield suggest that the two models will likely share a platform and body structure. However, the Toyota’s blockier front end is better suited for its intended audience, in contrast to the angular headlights and spindle-motif grille found on the Lexus.

2025 Toyota Land Cruiser Teaser

For more information, such as dimensions and powertrain specifications, we will have to wait until Toyota unveils the 2025 Land Cruiser. However, we can look to its GX cousin for some insights. The GX features a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 engine with an impressive output of 349 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. It also comes equipped with full-time four-wheel drive, a Torsen center differential, and a selectable low range for off-road adventures.
