Could CFMoto’s 125NK Concept Set A New Standard For Beginner Bikes?

CFMoto is quickly becoming one of the most well-known motorcycle brands in the industry, especially one of the most highly respected from China. During EICMA 2023, the brand showcased a variety of impressive models aimed at all aspects of motorcycling. Previously, we discussed the remarkable 450MT adventure bike, along with the rugged, rally-inspired MT-X Concept that came with it.

Now, let’s examine a more accessible option aimed at beginner riders. CFMoto’s NK series has been a staple in its lineup, offering models for riders of various skill levels. The current flagship model is the 800NK, which boasts power and technology derived from KTM’s LC8c engine (CFMoto openly acknowledges this). This time, CFMoto has revealed a striking new concept that could potentially revolutionize the beginner market: the 125NK Concept.

Similar to that of the MT-X Concept, CFMoto has disclosed very little information regarding the specific specifications of the 125NK Concept. However, based on the name and the markets where CFMoto operates, it’s easy to infer the kind of performance this bike will bring. It’s likely to feature a 125cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine producing no more than 15 horsepower – the recognized limit for power output on A1-restricted two-wheelers.

On the technology front, CFMoto has the opportunity to get creative with the 125NK Concept. Indeed, from its appearance alone, it appears that this is the case. Stylistically, the 125NK Concept draws inspiration from the NK-C22 Concept which eventually became the 800NK. At first glance, the 125NK Concept greatly resembles its larger siblings, so beginner riders who admire the ultra-modern sporty styling of the NK series are likely to be pleased.
