TREY CANARD TO RACE HONDA CR ELECTRIC PROTO

Honda is making a comeback with the “CR,” but this time it’s electric. Trey Canard is set to race the Honda CR Electric Proto at the All Japan Motocross Championship later this month. The images released by Honda look more like a production model compared to what we’ve seen at trade shows since 2019. Here’s the official statement from Honda:

Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) announced that they will be entering the electric motocrosser CR Electric Proto in the D.I.D All Japan Motocross Championship 2023 Round 8, Saitama Toyopet Cup. The race will take place at Off Road Village in Kawagoe, Saitama Prefecture on October 28th and 29th.

This will be Honda’s first attempt at entering an official race with a Honda-developed electric motorcycle. The CR Electric Proto will make a wildcard appearance as Team HRC, operated by Honda Racing Corporation. Trey Canard, the 33-year-old former AMA Pro Motocross 250 class champion and current team advisor for American Honda Motor Co., Inc., will be riding the CR Electric Proto at the event.
