Tata Punch Sunroof

As you can see from the table, the Tata Punch offers a sunroof starting from the Accomplished S variant, which is priced at Rs 8.25 lakh. It’s important to note that the Creative Flagship is the renamed version of the Creative iRA variant, which not only features a sunroof but also includes Tata’s iRA connected car technology.

For comparison, the sunroof variant of the Altroz begins with the XM (S) variant (but without voice assist), priced at Rs 7.35 lakh, making it Rs 90,000 more affordable than the starting sunroof variant of the Tata Punch. In contrast, the direct rival of the Tata Punch, the Hyundai Exter, provides a sunroof starting from its SX variant, priced at Rs 8 lakh. This is Rs 25,000 less than the Tata Punch’s Accomplished S variant.

Tata Punch Engine

The Punch is currently being offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine which makes 88PS and 115Nm, mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT. The same engine is also being offered in the CNG variant, which makes 74PS and 103Nm in CNG mode, and comes paired only to a 5-speed manual.

Price Range & Rivals

The Tata Punch is priced from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10.10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It’s the direct rival to the Hyundai Exter, and considering its price, it can also be regarded as an alternative to the Citroen C3, Maruti Ignis, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.

Fisker Ocean

The Fisker Ocean comes with a unique feature called ‘California mode’. With just a touch of a button, the car opens its sunroof and lowers seven of the eight panes in the glasshouse, giving you a near open-air driving experience without actually removing the roof. Another interesting feature is the car’s infotainment screen that can rotate to a landscape orientation when parked, allowing you to stream your favorite TV shows while waiting for the car to charge. These features may seem gimmicky but they add novelty to the overall experience.

However, Fisker hasn’t neglected the substance elsewhere. The company aimed to bring value to the family EV class with the Ocean, and it delivers on that front whether you opt for the entry-level or mid-level price.

In the UK, the mid-level, twin-motor, Ultra-spec model starts from just under £50,000. In comparison, competitors like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Tesla Model Y, BMW iX1, and Ford Mustang Mach-E AWD have higher starting prices ranging from £51,000 to £65,000. Despite the lower price, the Fisker Ocean offers 106kWh of usable battery capacity and up to 440 miles of WLTP-certified electric range. These figures are on par with more expensive electric vehicles like the Mercedes EQS.

During testing, the Fisker Ocean demonstrated its capability of achieving a range of 375-400 miles on a warm day, comprising a mix of urban, motorway, and country road driving. For those with on-street parking or apartment lifestyles, this car is convenient as it only requires charging once or twice a week. Fast charging is possible at up to 200kW using DC charging or at a nearby on-street AC charging post, making it a suitable option for those accustomed to traditional combustion-engine cars.

You Can Only Book The Top-end Maruti Invicto Strong Hybrid Ahead Of July 5 Launch

The Invicto will feature a panoramic sunroof, ADAS, and a strong-hybrid powertrain

Maruti Invicto MPV

  • Bookings for the Invicto were recently opened and the website only offers one variant option.

  • It is the fully-loaded Alpha+ variant with the strong hybrid powertrain.

  • The Invicto is equipped with a 2-litre petrol engine and strong-hybrid technology that could provide a fuel economy of around 23kmpl.

  • The top-end variant will come with a 10-inch touchscreen system, ventilated front seats, dual-zone AC, 360-degree camera, and ADAS.

  • The expected price for the single fully loaded variant is around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).

The bookings for the Maruti Invicto are now open and its prices will be announced on July 5. It is based on the Toyota Innova Hycross and will offer the same powertrains and features. However, the Maruti Nexa booking portal suggests that the MPV will only be available in a single top-end trim – the Alpha+ strong hybrid at launch.

Why might Maruti not offer more variants of the Invicto?

Maruti Invicto

The Innova Hycross, upon which the Maruti Invicto is based, is available in six broad variants. The Hycross is in high demand and the soaring waiting period has forced Toyota to temporarily stop taking fresh orders for the top-end strong-hybrid variants. Since Maruti is essentially sharing the Innova Hycross, high waiting times of the latter could be a primary reason for the Invicto to not have multiple variants at launch.

This also suggests that the Invicto won’t get the combustion-only 2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine option, whose variants would have also been more affordable.. The hybrid powertrain that it will offer is rated at 186PS and 206Nm, while being mated with an e-CVT (single-speed transmission). The Hycross claims an efficiency of up to 23.24kmpl and we’re expecting similar figures for the Invicto.

Toyota Innova Hycross

The flagship Maruti will feature panoramic sunroof, a 10-inch touchscreen system, dual-zone AC, ventilated front seats, and second-row powered Ottoman seats. Features like six airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and ADAS will take care of the safety.

If the Maruti Invicto is actually coming in a single fully loaded variant, expect its prices to be around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be positioned as a premium MPV alternative to the Kia Carens, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XUV700.

Kia Seltos Facelift Will Make Its India Debut On July 4

With this facelift, the compact SUV will get popular features like a panoramic sunroof and ADAS

Facelifted Kia Seltos Front

  • Dealership-level pre-bookings for the compact SUV are open for a token amount of Rs 25,000.

  • Expected to get the same petrol and diesel engine options as the outgoing model with the addition of a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine.

  • Apart from ADAS and a panoramic sunroof, it could also get features like integrated dual 10.25-inch displays, heated front seats and six airbags.

  • Market launch is expected to follow shortly after the reveal.

  • Could be priced from Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

As one of the top-selling compact SUVs in the country, the Kia Seltos has been due for an update and we have been awaiting the arrival of its facelift for quite some time. Now, we have confirmation that the facelifted Kia Seltos will be hitting the market soon and will make its debut in India on July 4.

Updated Design

Facelifted Kia Seltos Rear

With this facelift, the Seltos will get a sleeker set of LED headlights and DRLs along with a redesigned front grille. The side profile remains largely unchanged except for some door cladding. At the back, the compact SUV’s tail lamp setup is tweaked slightly, with a connecting element in the middle. The boot gets a tweaked design for a more aggressive look and the rear bumper has been redesigned as well.

Updated Powertrain

We expect that the facelifted Seltos will retain the engine options of the outgoing model which gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine (115PS/144Nm) with the choice of a 6-speed manual and a CVT gearbox, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (115PS/250Nm) paired with either a 6-speed iMT or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The old 140PS 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine, already not on sale, will be replaced by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine (160PS/253Nm) which can be found on the Kia Carens and the new Hyundai Verna.

Features & Safety

Facelifted Kia Seltos Cabin

As per some sightings of its test mules, we know that the facelifted Seltos will come with a panoramic sunroof and it will also get ADAS features like lane keep assist, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking. Both of these features are being offered by its rivals.

It could also get a redesigned cabin like the one present on the globally available facelifted Seltos with features like integrated dual 10.25-inch displays (touchscreen infotainment and digital driver’s display), and safety features like six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and hill assist.

Expected Price and Rivals

Facelifted Kia Seltos Front

Kia could announce its prices later in the same month and we expect it to have a starting price of Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelifted Seltos will continue its rivalry with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder and MG Astor.
