We are just a week away from the launch of the facelifted Kia Seltos in India. Leaked images and videos of the updated compact SUV have been surfacing online, with the latest sighting revealing an undisguised Tech (HT) Line variant of the new Seltos.

The spy video shows the facelifted Seltos in a white with black roof exterior paint option, without any camouflage. It showcases the SUV’s bigger grille, new alloy wheel design, and connected LED taillights. The video does not confirm if the spotted model had the panoramic sunroof or not.

Interior Updates

While there isn’t much revealed about the SUV’s interior in the video, a brief glimpse shows an all-black cabin and the connected screens setup. Kia is expected to offer the Seltos with a revamped cabin and dashboard layout, featuring newly designed central AC vents and a more premium climate control panel.

More Tech To Play With

In addition to the new climate control panel and panoramic sunroof, the Kia Seltos is likely to come with a digital driver’s display. The touchscreen options will remain the same, with 8-inch and 10.25-inch screens. Key features like ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, and an air purifier are expected to be retained.

The SUV’s safety kit will include advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), such as lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control. Other safety features onboard are expected to be six airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and a 360-degree camera.

The petrol engine will continue to be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a CVT, while the diesel engine will get a 6-speed iMT and a 6-speed AT. Instead of the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol unit, the facelifted Seltos will receive the Carens’s 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine (160PS/253Nm), paired with either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT.

You Can Only Book The Top-end Maruti Invicto Strong Hybrid Ahead Of July 5 Launch

The Invicto will feature a panoramic sunroof, ADAS, and a strong-hybrid powertrain

Maruti Invicto MPV

  • Bookings for the Invicto were recently opened and the website only offers one variant option.

  • It is the fully-loaded Alpha+ variant with the strong hybrid powertrain.

  • The Invicto is equipped with a 2-litre petrol engine and strong-hybrid technology that could provide a fuel economy of around 23kmpl.

  • The top-end variant will come with a 10-inch touchscreen system, ventilated front seats, dual-zone AC, 360-degree camera, and ADAS.

  • The expected price for the single fully loaded variant is around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).

The bookings for the Maruti Invicto are now open and its prices will be announced on July 5. It is based on the Toyota Innova Hycross and will offer the same powertrains and features. However, the Maruti Nexa booking portal suggests that the MPV will only be available in a single top-end trim – the Alpha+ strong hybrid at launch.

Why might Maruti not offer more variants of the Invicto?

Maruti Invicto

The Innova Hycross, upon which the Maruti Invicto is based, is available in six broad variants. The Hycross is in high demand and the soaring waiting period has forced Toyota to temporarily stop taking fresh orders for the top-end strong-hybrid variants. Since Maruti is essentially sharing the Innova Hycross, high waiting times of the latter could be a primary reason for the Invicto to not have multiple variants at launch.

This also suggests that the Invicto won’t get the combustion-only 2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine option, whose variants would have also been more affordable.. The hybrid powertrain that it will offer is rated at 186PS and 206Nm, while being mated with an e-CVT (single-speed transmission). The Hycross claims an efficiency of up to 23.24kmpl and we’re expecting similar figures for the Invicto.

The flagship Maruti will feature panoramic sunroof, a 10-inch touchscreen system, dual-zone AC, ventilated front seats, and second-row powered Ottoman seats. Features like six airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and ADAS will take care of the safety.

If the Maruti Invicto is actually coming in a single fully loaded variant, expect its prices to be around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be positioned as a premium MPV alternative to the Kia Carens, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XUV700.

Kia Seltos Facelift Will Make Its India Debut On July 4

With this facelift, the compact SUV will get popular features like a panoramic sunroof and ADAS

Facelifted Kia Seltos Front

  • Dealership-level pre-bookings for the compact SUV are open for a token amount of Rs 25,000.

  • Expected to get the same petrol and diesel engine options as the outgoing model with the addition of a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine.

  • Apart from ADAS and a panoramic sunroof, it could also get features like integrated dual 10.25-inch displays, heated front seats and six airbags.

  • Market launch is expected to follow shortly after the reveal.

  • Could be priced from Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

As one of the top-selling compact SUVs in the country, the Kia Seltos has been due for an update and we have been awaiting the arrival of its facelift for quite some time. Now, we have confirmation that the facelifted Kia Seltos will be hitting the market soon and will make its debut in India on July 4.

Updated Design

Facelifted Kia Seltos Rear

With this facelift, the Seltos will get a sleeker set of LED headlights and DRLs along with a redesigned front grille. The side profile remains largely unchanged except for some door cladding. At the back, the compact SUV’s tail lamp setup is tweaked slightly, with a connecting element in the middle. The boot gets a tweaked design for a more aggressive look and the rear bumper has been redesigned as well.

Updated Powertrain

We expect that the facelifted Seltos will retain the engine options of the outgoing model which gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine (115PS/144Nm) with the choice of a 6-speed manual and a CVT gearbox, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (115PS/250Nm) paired with either a 6-speed iMT or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Features & Safety

Facelifted Kia Seltos Cabin

As per some sightings of its test mules, we know that the facelifted Seltos will come with a panoramic sunroof and it will also get ADAS features like lane keep assist, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking. Both of these features are being offered by its rivals.

It could also get a redesigned cabin like the one present on the globally available facelifted Seltos with features like integrated dual 10.25-inch displays (touchscreen infotainment and digital driver’s display), and safety features like six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and hill assist.

Expected Price and Rivals

Facelifted Kia Seltos Front

Kia could announce its prices later in the same month and we expect it to have a starting price of Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelifted Seltos will continue its rivalry with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder and MG Astor.

PEUGEOT REVEALS NEW PANORAMIC i-COCKPIT®

PEUGEOT has revealed the new look panoramic i-Cockpit® that will debut on the new PEUGEOT 3008 later this year. The next-generation PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® features a 21-inch high-definition curved panoramic screen floating above the dashboard, a new compact steering wheel and touch-sensitive i-Toggles.

PEUGEOT celebrated 10 years of i-Cockpit® innovation this year with almost 10 million units sold. The different generations of PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® have included the latest technologies available – including a digital instrument cluster, wireless connectivity, voice commands, 3D effects, and customisable i-Toggles. The next generation i-Cockpit® continues this tradition of innovation by including a curved 21-inch high-definition floating touchscreen that incorporates the head-up display and central touchscreen.

The new design brings together two of the three fundamental elements of the i-Cockpit®, the raised head-up display and a large central touchscreen. These are now built into a curved panoramic screen made up of a single 21-inch high-definition panel, which extends from the left-hand end of the dashboard to the centre console. The screen is attached by a rear mount that is invisible from the passenger compartment to create a ‘floating’ effect, accentuated by LED mood lighting beneath the screen.

The screen is positioned for optimum ergonomics and is slightly curved towards the driver while remaining accessible to the passenger. It combines two key functions of the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®:

  • On the left-hand side of the panoramic screen, the instrument cluster displays all the information relating to driving such as speed, power meter, driving aids and energy flow, all above the compact steering wheel.

  • On the right-hand side, in the centre of the dashboard, the touchscreen section is accessible to both driver and passenger. It can be used to control the heating/air conditioning, navigation, media/connectivity and other systems.

The central part of the dashboard houses the i-Toggles, fully customisable touch-sensitive buttons that can be programmed with 10 pre-sets to provide rapid access to the user’s favourite functions, such as calling a favourite contact, starting navigation to a frequently used destination, tuning the radio to a favourite station, or setting the ideal temperature for the air conditioning.

The centre console is airy and uncluttered to increase the space available for storage and wireless smartphone charging. This has been made possible by moving the automatic gearbox selector to the dashboard, to the side of the steering wheel, and just next to the car’s stop/start button. This allows easy access to the gearbox control and to stop or start the engine in a single intuitive gesture.

The compact steering wheel has always been a fundamental element of the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® and has been extensively reworked to offer an even greater driving feel and comfort. It has retained its compactness, yet features a more modern design – the redesigned central cushion is smaller and ‘isolated’ from the steering wheel spokes to give a levitating effect similar to the panoramic screen on the dashboard.

The controls located on the new compact steering wheel are now ‘tactile clicking’ for optimum user ergonomics. To avoid any accidental inputs, they automatically detect the driver’s fingers but are only activated when pressed.

The 21-inch floating panoramic screen is not the only element that contributes to the spectacular look of the new PEUGEOT panoramic i-Cockpit®. The strong appeal and technological character are enhanced by the ambient lighting which extends across the entire width of the dashboard and door panels. This lighting is reflected on an elegant piece of aluminium and can be customised in eight different colours.
