The Intelligent AWD System In Infiniti Cars: Balancing Sportiness And Safety

The AWD technology in Infiniti cars is continuously monitoring wheelspin, throttle position, and speed. Under normal conditions, the system directs 100% power to the rear wheels to improve weight balance and fuel efficiency. However, it can adapt to changing terrains.

In addition, the AWD system enhances the responsiveness of Infiniti cars in emergency situations. Chris Fischer, Infiniti Vehicle Performance Development Manager, explains that the all-new Infiniti QX60 is equipped with an all-wheel-drive system designed to tackle a wide range of situations, including deep snow, sand, and slick packed snow.

When unfavorable road conditions are detected, the system automatically diverts up to 50% of power to the front wheels. This allows the car to handle more challenging terrain and unstable roads, working in tandem with the driver’s decision-making.

Infiniti’s development team conducted tests on their QX60 cars in cold-weather environments including Alaska, Northern Quebec, and Michigan to fine-tune the adaptability of the AWD system. The system was also tested in desert conditions such as Death Valley, California, and Moab, Utah to simulate challenging sandy terrains and overcome similar obstacles.

The New Tata Nexon Gets These 5 Features Over The Maruti Brezza

The Tata Nexon facelift has been unveiled and it comes with several new features that the Maruti Brezza lacks. Let’s take a look at these 5 features in detail:

1. Bigger Touchscreen: The updated Nexon now features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is larger than the 9-inch system found in the Brezza. It also supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

2. Fully Digital Driver’s Display: The Nexon comes with a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, which can show various information such as tyre pressure, media, drive information, and even a compass. This feature was previously limited to luxury cars, while the Brezza only offers a TFT color display between the analog dials.

3. Ventilated Front Seats: While both SUVs offer leatherette upholstery in their top variants, the new Nexon takes it a step further by introducing ventilated front seats. This feature was also present in the pre-facelift Nexon.

4. Cleaner Air: The Nexon comes with a PM2.5 air filter and purifier, which the Brezza does not have. This feature allows users to check the level of air quality on the infotainment system.

5. Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS): The Nexon is equipped with a TPMS, which is missing in the Brezza. The TPMS allows users to monitor the pressure of each tyre, and the details can be viewed on the digital driver’s display.

Bonus Feature: Voice-enabled Sunroof: Both SUVs come with a sunroof, but the Nexon has an added advantage. It can be operated via voice commands, making it convenient for drivers and rear occupants to open the sunroof without having to press a button.

The Tata Nexon facelift will be launched on September 14th and will compete against rivals such as the Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
