When the Tata Harrier was launched in 2019, it directly competed with the MG Hector. While the MG SUV was known for its extensive features (which got even better with a recent update), Tata has upped its game with the Harrier facelift. In fact, the Tata SUV now offers some unique features that set it apart from the Hector. Let’s take a closer look at these features:

Dual-zone AC

  • The Harrier now offers dual-zone climate control, a feature that is being introduced for the first time.

  • This comfort and convenience feature is available in the higher-spec Fearless variants of the SUV.

7 Airbags

  • The Harrier now comes with 7 airbags, making it the first Tata car to offer this feature.
  • It includes a driver-side knee airbag and 6 standard airbags, giving it an advantage over the MG Hector.
  • The Fearless+ variants of the SUV, priced from Rs 24.49 lakh, offer this safety feature.

10-speaker Music System

  • The Harrier now boasts a 10-speaker JBL sound system, which includes 5 speakers, 4 tweeters, and 1 subwoofer.

  • The Harrier now features a bigger 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, which also shows map navigation on the entire screen.

  • This convenience feature is usually seen in luxury cars.

Memory Function For Driver’s Seat

  • The Harrier and the MG Hector both come with a 6-way powered driver seat. However, the Harrier has the advantage of a memory function for the driver’s seat, which allows the driver to save up to 3 preferred driving positions.

Diesel-automatic Option

  • The Harrier has had one major advantage over the Hector for a long time, which is its diesel-automatic combination with a 6-speed transmission, something the Hector lacks.

  • This is despite the fact that both SUVs are powered by the same 2.0-liter diesel engine with 170PS and 350Nm of torque.

  • Tata offers this combination from the mid-spec Pure+ variant onwards, with automatic variants of the Harrier starting from Rs 19.99 lakh.

  • The Harrier is priced from Rs 15.49 lakh to Rs 27.34 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Like the MG Hector, it offers premium features such as a large touchscreen, ADAS, leatherette upholstery, and significant road presence.
