The Pixel 8 series is bringing some impressive updates, especially with the Pixel 8 Pro. According to leaks, the Pro version will have an improved wired charging output of 27W, surpassing the 23W limit on the Pixel 7 Pro. It will also charge faster at 23W with Google’s in-house wireless charging mat, compared to the Pixel 8’s maximum of 20W.

When using a Qi-based wireless charger, the Pixel 8 series will reach the 12W limit. In comparison, the OnePlus 11 offers 100W wired charging, while the OnePlus 10 Pro supports 50W wireless charging with its proprietary VOOC charging stand. As for battery capacity, the Pixel 8 Pro will have a slightly larger 4,950mAh battery, just a bit bigger than the 4,926mAh battery in the Pixel 7 Pro.

However, it seems that Google is focusing on significant camera upgrades for the Pixel 8 series. Both phones are rumored to feature a new 50-megapixel main camera with a larger sensor for better low-light performance and image quality.

In addition, Google is replacing the Pixel 7 Pro’s 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a more powerful 64-megapixel sensor on the Pixel 8 Pro. Interestingly, leaks also mention an upgraded time-of-flight (ToF) sensor and a thermal sensor for non-contact temperature analysis on the Pixel 8 Pro.
