2024 Ducati Multistrada V4 RS Upgrades Put The ‘Sport’ in ‘Sport Touring’

Ducati has unveiled the 2024 Ducati Multistrada V4 RS, the latest addition to the Multistrada family. This new bike is designed to strike a balance between superbike performance and touring capability, featuring upgraded parts for improved performance and reduced weight.

The Engine

The 2024 Ducati Multistrada V4 RS is powered by the 1,103 Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine, which is also found in the Panigale and Streetfighter models. It produces a claimed maximum horsepower of 180 at 13,500 rpm and 87 pound-feet of torque at 9,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and a Ducati up and down quickshifter. The Multistrada V4 RS also features an STM Evo-SBK dry clutch.

Suspension, Brakes, Wheels, and Tires

The Multistrada V4 RS features a 48mm Öhlins fully adjustable front fork with titanium nitride treatment, along with an Öhlins TTX36 fully adjustable monoshock at the rear. The suspension is electronically adjustable with Öhlins Smart EC 2.0. Braking is handled by radially-mounted Brembo Stylema monobloc four-piston, two-pad calipers up front, paired with 330mm semi-floating brake discs. The rear brake consists of a single Brembo two-piston floating caliper and a 265mm brake disc. The bike rides on 17-inch forged Marchesini alloys fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa rubber.

Dimensions

The Multistrada V4 RS has a wheelbase of 1,592mm (62.7 inches). It has a rake of 25.75 degrees and a trail of 120mm (4.7 inches). Ducati claims that this is the lightest Multistrada ever, weighing around 520-521 pounds. The seat height is adjustable between 33.1 inches and 33.9 inches, with an optional low seat available.

Special Features

The Multistrada V4 RS integrates carbon fiber components such as a front mudguard, hand guards, heat shields, and front beak. It also features a new titanium subframe and a compact battery, contributing to weight reduction. The foot pegs are positioned higher and further back, creating a more aggressive riding position, and the handlebar has a sportier position and shape compared to the standard Multistrada V4.

Electronics

The Multistrada V4 RS is equipped with a 6.5-inch TFT display and offers four power modes (Full, High, Medium, and Low). It also features traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, and up and down quickshifting. The bike offers four Ride Modes: Race, Sport, Touring, and Urban. Additionally, it includes a Full Power Mode, which is new to the Multistrada family.
