Chinese manufacturers are becoming more competitive in the performance-oriented motorcycle market. The EICMA 2023 event showcased the capabilities of brands such as CFMoto and QJ Motor in developing high-performance and technologically advanced bikes. QJ Motor unveiled the SRK 1000 RC Concept, which was a highlight of the event.

Chinese and European collaborations are not uncommon, with examples like KTM and CFMoto, BMW and Loncin, and more recently, MV Agusta and QJ Motor. It is evident that QJ Motor has tapped into MV Agusta’s expertise in performance-oriented motorcycles for the SRK 1000 RC Concept. The bike is built on the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR platform, with clear design inspirations from MV Agusta evident in the superbike concept.

The SRK 1000 RC Concept features a styling reminiscent of MV Agusta’s F3 supersport, with added angular lines and a futuristic aesthetic. It is equipped with a narrow twin-pod LED headlamp, creating a striking front end. Additionally, the bike’s angular fairing and muscular fuel tank give it a sleek and aggressive silhouette, reminiscent of a high-speed stance even at a standstill. The exposed aluminum frame and single-sided swingarm, along with the dual-exhaust setup, further showcase its sporty design, drawing clear parallels to MV Agusta’s style.

The engine of the SRK 1000 RC Concept is a reworked version of MV Agusta’s 1,078cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, inline-four-cylinder engine, producing 146 horsepower and 112 Newton-meters (about 78 pound-feet) of torque. Despite its futuristic styling and Italian design influence, the SRK 1000 RC Concept falls short in performance compared to other superbikes such as the Yamaha R1, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, and Honda CBR1000RR.

However, the SRK 1000 RC promises sharp handling, thanks to its Ohlins suspension and Brembo Stylema brake calipers. It is equipped with Pirelli Rosso Corsa tires, emphasizing its track-focused performance. Although details on pricing and availability are yet to be announced by QJ Motor, the bike is expected to be officially unveiled in its production-ready form in 2024. Given QJ Motor’s history of homologating models in various markets, it is likely that the SRK 1000 RC will be offered beyond the Chinese market.
