The Nurburgring, commonly referred to as “The Green Hell,” is renowned for being the ultimate test of a car’s performance. The 14.2-mile Nordschleife section of the track challenges a vehicle’s speed, handling, and braking capabilities to their absolute limits. Completing a lap in under eight minutes places a car among the very fastest. In the hands of Jorg Weidinger, the latest BMW M2 achieved an impressive time of 7 minutes and 38.71 seconds.

For perspective, the previous M2 Competition managed a lap time of 7 minutes and 52.36 seconds, making it over 13 seconds slower than the current model. The M2 Competition delivers 410 horsepower, whereas the 2023 iteration produces an improved 460 horses. The new car also boasts enhanced acceleration, going from zero to 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds compared to the older model’s 4.1-second time. Furthermore, the top speed of the 2023 M2 reaches 177 mph.
