VAUXHALL CONTINUES TO LEAD ELECTRIC VAN SALES IN THE UK
  • Vivaro Electric remains the top-selling electric van in the UK in 2023, while Combo Electric holds the third spot
  • Vauxhall is the leading brand for electric light commercial vehicles (e-LCVs) in the UK
  • Vauxhall accounts for 31.7% of e-LCV sales in the UK so far in 2023
  • Vivaro and Combo rank second and fourth, respectively, in the overall van market
  • Vauxhall is one of the few brands offering electric variants across its entire LCV lineup

According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), Vauxhall’s Vivaro Electric continues to lead as the best-selling electric light commercial vehicle (e-LCV) in the UK. In the year-to-date rankings, Vivaro Electric is at the top, closely followed by Combo Electric in third place, which is also the best seller in its segment. Vauxhall’s success with these models means that nearly one-in-three e-LCVs registered in 2023 is a Vauxhall, solidifying its position as the UK’s leading e-LCV manufacturer for the year.

In the broader van market, Vauxhall holds the third position among the best-selling brands in both October and year-to-date rankings. The diesel versions of Vivaro and Combo rank second and fourth, respectively, in sales for this year.

Vauxhall’s Managing Director, James Taylor, expressed his satisfaction with the impressive sales performance of Vivaro Electric and Combo Electric, confirming that Vauxhall continues to be the preferred choice for electric vans in the UK. Taylor also highlighted the positive response from businesses to Vauxhall’s e-LCV offerings, especially with the recently launched Stellantis e-LCV Grant, demonstrating the significant advantages of electrification for van drivers.

The Stellantis e-LCV Grant provides customers with a £2,500 incentive for small and medium electric vans, including the Vauxhall Combo Electric and Vivaro Electric. This grant is in addition to the existing government grant of up to £5,000 for electric vans. Furthermore, businesses and sole traders operating in the expanded London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) can apply for up to £9,500 to replace a non-compliant van with an electric model, potentially resulting in up to £17,000 in savings on a new electric van.

The Stellantis e-LCV Grant also includes a complimentary home wallbox installation* and £400 credit on an Octopus Electroverse card, offering up to 2,500 miles of public charging from over 500,000 charging points across the UK and Europe, accessible through a single card**.

The e-LCV Grant is available for all purchase and lease options, such as outright purchase, conditional sale/hire purchase, Finance Lease, or Business Contract Hire through Leasys, ensuring all customers transitioning to electric can take advantage of the benefits.

This offer is valid for orders on stock vehicles until December 31, 2023.

*Standard home installation is based on the installer’s guidelines. Additional costs may apply for non-standard installation materials/practices.

**The mileage estimate is based on WLTP test figures and average public charging costs across networks accessible via the Octopus Electroverse card.
