The Chinese EV industry is booming. Skyworth, the automotive subsidiary of Skywell, an electronics company from China, is joining the race with the new Skyhome. This sleek-looking sedan is set to go into production next year.

The design of the EV draws inspiration from traditional Chinese architecture, giving it a unique aesthetic compared to other EVs. The vehicle’s cornice wings are designed to slide backward during driving, reducing wind resistance by three percent. In adverse weather or emergency situations, they tilt up, increasing resistance by five percent for enhanced control.

The company claims the vehicle has a technology called the Ten Smart Butlers, using AI algorithms to provide functions ranging from entrepreneurial guidance to emotional support. Additionally, the vehicle’s intelligent voice capabilities include multi-intent voice interaction technology, and an intelligent non-contact vital signs monitoring system that can recognize health risks in the early stages.

Rear passengers can enjoy a giant retractable TV that is even larger than the 31.1-inch screen in the new BMW 7 Series.

Skyworth has also heavily invested in suspension technology, claiming the new electric sedan has one of the most advanced air suspensions in the industry. The design includes a double-wishbone front setup, rear aluminum alloy five-link layout, and a balanced front and rear axle load ratio of 50:50. The overall chassis design with an integrated battery pack reduces the number of parts by 127 compared to a conventional EV and promises a weight reduction of 24 percent.

There’s no official information about the powertrain yet.
