Danny Chandler has abandoned his goggles after a crash, but he fights on at the 1982 500cc USGP at Carlsbad. It was a good thing too, because “Magoo” absolutely dominated the first moto, winning by a country mile, and then came back to crash twice in the second moto when this shot was taken, yet he finished high enough in fifth to win the overall, after total time for each moto was tallied. The domination of his first moto, but perhaps even more his gritty performance to never give up in the second moto earned him maybe his greatest victory of his career.
TADDY BLAZUSIAK LEAVES GASGAS- SIGNS WITH STARK?
The SuperEnduro world got a surprise when Taddy Blazusiak parted ways with GASGAS. Following an incredible career at KTM (Erzberg Rodeo 5 times; FIM Indoor Enduro World Cup 6 times; and the AMA EnduroCross Championship 5 times), the Polish pilot moved to the factory Farioli team tent to GASGAS in 2020 and has played a major role in getting that team organized and competitive.
Where’s Taddy going? The buzz is that Taddy left GASGAS and signed with Stark Future to ride the Varg electric off-road motorcycle in the 2024 SuperEnduro World Championship and work as a development rider.
The SuperEnduro season looks strong with Mani Lettenbichler committed to the series.
