Subaru recently showcased the 2025 Forester at the LA Auto Show, but it did not include a hybrid powertrain in the SUV’s specifications. If you want an electrified Forester, you’ll have to wait for about a year after the conventionally powered version is available for sale, according to Subaru of America COO Jeff Walters.
The hybrid-powered Forester won’t be solely a Subaru initiative. Walters mentioned to Automotive News that the electrified version will combine a boxer engine with an electric motor and a battery pack obtained from Toyota. This wouldn’t be the first hybrid Forester; Europe received a hybrid version of the previous generation model.
