Their bookings are already open for Rs 25,000 both online and at Tata’s pan-India dealer network

When the Tata Harrier facelift and Tata Safari facelift were unveiled, Tata revealed most of the details about the updated SUVs, except for their prices. It has now been confirmed that the new Tata Harrier and Tata Safari will be available for purchase from October 17. Bookings for both models are already open, with a booking amount of Rs 25,000, online and at Tata’s dealerships across India. Here’s a quick overview of the changes:

Fresh Exteriors

Tata Harrier and Safari facelifts

Both SUVs have undergone similar design updates. The changes include a redesigned grille, sharper indicators, and vertically stacked split-LED headlights. Both models also feature an elongated LED DRL strip in the front.

The sides of the SUVs now display the ‘Harrier’ and ‘Safari’ logos on the lower portions of the front doors. Additionally, both models come with alloy wheels ranging from 17 inches to 19 inches. The rear of the SUVs showcases a connected LED taillight setup and updated fonts for the respective name badges. Both models have chunky skid plates at the front and rear.

Interior That Compliments The Exterior

Tata has also refreshed the cabin of both SUVs, featuring a layered dashboard design, reworked central AC vents, and a touch-based climate control panel. The new Harrier and Safari models are equipped with a 4-spoke steering wheel with a backlit ‘Tata’ logo. The cabin color is now coordinated based on the chosen ‘Persona’.

A Longer Features List

Tata Harrier and Safari facelifts 12.3-inch touchscreen

Both Tata vehicles now offer an expanded list of features, including a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, dual-zone climate control, multi-color ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. Other features include ventilated front seats (also available in the middle row of the 6-seater Safari), cruise control, and wireless phone charging.

Passenger safety is ensured by up to seven airbags (including a driver-side knee airbag), a 360-degree camera, ISOFIX child seat mounts, electronic stability program (ESP), and hill-hold assist. The advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and blind spot monitoring.

Still A Diesel Offering Only

For now, Tata has decided to offer the Harrier and Safari facelifts with only the 2.0-liter diesel engine (170PS/350Nm), available with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options.

Expected Price And Competitors

Both SUVs will be sold in a revised variant lineup, including Smart, Pure, Adventure, and Fearless for the Harrier, and Smart, Pure, Adventure, and Accomplished for the Safari. It is expected that the new Harrier and Safari will be priced around Rs 1 lakh higher than the current models. The current Harrier is priced between Rs 15.20 lakh and Rs 24.27 lakh, while the existing Safari costs between Rs 15.85 lakh and Rs 25.21 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The 5-seat SUV will compete against the MG Hector and Mahindra XUV700, as well as higher-spec variants of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The Safari facelift will rival the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700, and MG Hector Plus.
