Jaguar XJ220: A Fast Tour of Monaco at 5 MPH

The Jaguar XJ220 was a competitor to the Ferrari F40 and Porsche 959. However, unlike its rivals, this British supercar hasn’t seen a significant increase in value. According to Hagerty’s stats, it generally sells for less than $1 million. In this video, former Fifth Gear host Tiff Needel, who is also a racing driver, takes the XJ220, which is up for auction, on a ride through Monaco and the neighboring mountains.

Needel meets up with former Formula One driver Thierry Boutsen to examine the Jaguar supercar. The two share a friendly relationship and jokingly reminisce about their racing days. Boutsen, who deals in specialty automobiles as part of his business in Monaco, is the seller of the car.

Place Bids On Supercar Collection With Ferrari 512 TR Spider, 46-Mile Jag XJ220

In November, RM Sotheby’s will be auctioning off The Factory Fresh collection, which consists of 20 vehicles. One standout in the collection is a 30-year-old Jaguar XJ220 with only 46 miles, making it incredibly rare. Another highlight is a 1994 Ferrari 512 TR Spider, one of only three ever built, finished in a unique blue color with a dark blue interior. Although it doesn’t have the low mileage of the Jaguar, with only 354 miles on the odometer, it’s still an exceptional find.

The Ferrari’s rarity and low mileage have led RM Sotheby’s to estimate its value at up to £2.7 million ($3.3 million). In comparison, the Jaguar is valued at $460,000 to $521,000.

But that’s not all.

Another rare gem in the collection is a 1991 Bentley Turbo R Drophead Coupe, of which only two were built. Originally a coupe, it was later converted to a convertible with Pininfarina styling. This Bentley has traveled a mere 460 miles, preserving its factory fresh condition.

Additionally, the collection includes a 2001 Ferrari 550 Barchetta, one of 48 built with right-hand drive. It features the iconic Ferrari shade of Rosso Corsa with a black interior. Despite its desirability, the convertible Ferrari has only been driven for 137 miles.
