The Toyota IMV 0 Is A Cool Customisable Pickup Concept

Of the various versions teased, a couple of potential customisations really caught our eye

Toyota IMV 0 Concept

Toyota is renowned for producing exceptional pickup trucks, as exemplified by the popular Toyota Hilux. Recently, the Japanese automaker unveiled the IMV 0, a new concept pickup designed to showcase the future of pickup trucks. While the complete details of the concept will be revealed at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show, Toyota has given us a glimpse of the customisation possibilities with the IMV 0 through various renders. Here are a few that have stood out:

Ambulance

Toyota IMV 0 Ambulance

One intriguing customisation option is the ability to convert the IMV 0 into an ambulance. The cabin can accommodate two people, while the rear can be transformed into a small structure equipped with emergency medical equipment. Although specific technical details have not been disclosed, it is expected to include oxygen support, basic medical supplies, and a stretcher. Due to its compact size and robust build, this ambulance concept can effectively reach difficult areas faster than traditional ambulances.

Off Roader

Toyota IMV 0 Off-Roader

Another enticing customisation possibility is transforming the IMV 0 into a capable off-roader. This involves fitting larger profile tires, wheel arches, a more robust bumper with tow winches, a roof rack, and a covered rear section that functions as a secondary cabin for additional occupants. Despite these modifications, the 5.3-meter-long design still provides ample space for a storage bay. Although specific details have not been released, this customisation is likely to include necessary mechanical enhancements.

Adventure RV

For those seeking recreational possibilities, the IMV 0 can be customised into a stylish adventure RV. The back of the driver’s cab can be fitted with a specially designed cabin that offers space for 4-5 passengers along with furniture and appliances.

Capsule Bar

Toyota plans to showcase a modified version of the IMV 0 as a capsule bar at the Japan Mobility Show, where visitors will have the opportunity to play and win prizes. What are your thoughts on this concept? Would you like to see something similar at the next Auto Expo in India? Feel free to share your opinions and thoughts on the IMV 0 in the comments section below.

Angel Sánchez Appointed as New CEO of Dainese Group

Dainese, a well-known brand in motorcycle gear and apparel, caters to riders in various disciplines, including the racetrack, off-road adventures, daily commuting, and touring. The Dainese Group, based in Italy, comprises the Dainese, AGV, and TCX brands, offering comprehensive solutions to protect motorcyclists from head to toe.

There are significant changes happening within the Dainese Group, as Angel Sánchez will become the new CEO starting from November 2, 2023. Sánchez brings a diverse background primarily in retail and consumer products to this leadership position. He has held CEO and senior leadership roles in various international companies.

As part of these transitions, Cristiano Silei, who has been leading Dainese since 2015, will transition to the role of non-executive chairman within the company. These shifts mark a new chapter for Dainese, and it will be interesting to see how these changes impact the brand’s future direction and innovations in the motorcycle gear industry.

Prior to becoming CEO at Dainese, Angel Sánchez had an impressive career. He served as the CEO of Conserve Italia, one of Europe’s largest food and beverage cooperatives, overseeing renowned brands like Cirio, Yoga, and Valfrutta. Under his leadership, the businesses experienced significant growth, with EBITDA doubling during his tenure.

Sánchez also held the CEO position at ABM Italia, a European manufacturer specializing in cabinets, shelving, and storage products. His time there culminated in the successful sale of the company to Keter, a leading manufacturer of high-quality consumer plastic products. Within Keter, Sánchez initially served as the Chief Marketing Officer and later advanced to the position of Deputy CEO and Head of Europe. His diverse experiences across different industries bring a wealth of expertise to his new role as CEO of Dainese.

AGV Introduces The Redesigned K3 Full-Face Helmet

In the company’s official press release, Sánchez expressed excitement about joining the Dainese Group, a company he has admired for many years. He looks forward to leveraging the power of the group’s respective brands and seizing growth opportunities, including expanding direct-to-consumer channels and increasing presence in high-potential markets like China.

Dainese Group has made significant investments to support its expansion strategy, such as establishing a direct presence in China and opening a new production facility in Vietnam in 2022. These developments position Dainese for continued success and innovation in the motorcycle gear and apparel industry.

Dainese Group, consisting of the Dainese, AGV, and TCX brands, along with the recently secured license with Momo Design, is supported by the majority shareholder, Carlyle, a global investment firm. With Carlyle’s backing, Dainese has witnessed double-digit growth and achieved a remarkable 300 million Euros (approximately $314 million) in revenue in 2022, while maintaining profitability.

8BitDo’s Latest Retro Receiver Lets You Play PS1 & PS2 With Modern Controllers

8BitDo has released their newest Retro Receiver, which allows you to use modern controllers to play games from the PS1 and PS2 era. The Retro Receiver is compatible with a variety of different controllers, including 8BitDo’s own collection. This means that you can even use the company’s Arcade Stick v3 to play games like “Metal Gear Solid” on the PS1. The supported models include the PS5 DualSense, PS4 DualShock, and various Xbox and Nintendo Switch controllers.

However, it’s important to note that while the Retro Receiver enables you to play PS2 games, the gameplay experience may not be exactly the same as the original console. This is because some PS2 games made use of the pressure-sensitive buttons on the controller, which the compatible controllers do not have. Although perfect one-to-one emulation across platforms is still being worked on, 8BitDo’s Retro Receiver is a step towards ensuring that older consoles remain playable for years to come.

8BitDo’s products have received positive feedback from customers and critics, and the anticipation for the latest Retro Receiver is high. However, since the receiver is just now hitting the market, there are currently no published reviews available. But it is likely that we won’t have to wait long for the first reactions to be shared online.

How To Connect Your PS5 Controller To Your PC

The DualSense controller, known for its comfort and various additional features such as the touchpad, motion controls, and haptic feedback, is not only limited to the PS5. If you want to use these features while playing on your PC, there is both good news and bad news to consider.

The good news is that it is possible to use all the advanced features of the DualSense controller while playing PC games. However, the bad news is that the ability to use these features depends on several factors, with the most significant one being whether the game you’re playing already has DualSense feature mapping.

In general, if you’re playing a game on your PC that is also available on PS5 (such as “Marvel’s Spider-Man,” “Death Stranding,” “Final Fantasy VII Remake,” etc.) and you have any external input modifiers like Steam Input disabled, then the advanced features should work as intended. However, if you’re playing other games or software, these features may not work natively. In such cases, you can try using an XInput wrapper like DualSenseX to manually enable the features, but even then, it may not guarantee their functionality.
