Fastway Unveils The Men 191 Plaid Motorcycle Shirt

When it comes to riding gear, we all have our own style and preferences. While some riders prefer racing-inspired protective gear, others opt for a more casual and laid-back look. Fortunately, gear manufacturers have been bridging the gap between gear and fashion, creating versatile pieces that cater to different styles. One such example is the Men 191 riding shirt from Fastway.

Fastway, a brand owned by German distributor Louis Moto, is known for its budget-friendly gear options. The Men 191 riding shirt features a classic lumberjack design that resembles a regular dress shirt rather than a motorcycle-specific garment.

Fastway Introduces The Men 191 Plaid Motorcycle Shirt

Despite its casual appearance, the Men 191 shirt is packed with protective features. It is made of a blend of polyester and aramid fibers, with aramid fibers making up 60% of its composition. Aramid fibers are known for being lightweight, breathable, and highly resistant to abrasions. The shirt also features safety seams certified ISO 4916 on impact points.

In terms of impact protection, the Men 191 comes with removable and height-adjustable Safe Tech level 1 protectors for the shoulders and elbows. For enhanced protection, you can upgrade these protectors to Xelion Level 2 for the shoulders and elbows. Additionally, the shirt has a built-in pocket at the back that can accommodate a Super Shield back protector.

On the comfort side, the Fastway Men 191 riding shirt features a front zipper and press-stud flap for a clean and secure fit. The cuffs have press studs for a snug fit around the wrists. Two exterior pockets and two interior pockets provide ample storage space. The shirt is available in red and comes in sizes ranging from S to 3XL. It is priced at 179.99 Euros or approximately $196 USD.

Next-Gen BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Spotted for the First Time

The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, which is a compact sport sedan with an additional pair of doors, is getting a new generation. Recent spy shots show that development is underway, with production expected to start in late 2024.

One of the notable features at the front end is the unusual layout of BMW’s kidney grilles. Unlike the traditional design, this model has a smaller version of the grilles in the center of the nose, with two larger openings on each side. However, it’s worth noting that the white mesh used in the larger sections is likely not the final production-spec part.

As seen in the latest spy images, both the HTK and HTK+ variants have some common features like steering-mounted audio controls (HTK+ gets cruise control and MID control as well), fabric upholstery, a smaller 8-inch touchscreen, and a digitised driver display like the one in the Kia Sonet. While the HTK variant has manual AC, the latter has auto climate control. Another possible difference between the two is that only the HTK+ variant will come with push-button start/stop.

Peugeot Opens Orders for New 508 and New 508 SW

Peugeot has started accepting orders for the new 508, 508 SW, and 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered models. These models come with updated exterior and interior designs, new technologies, and simplified trim options. The prices for the new 508 range start at £34,020 OTR MRRP, while the Peugeot Sport Engineered variants start at £53,825. Deliveries are expected to begin in September.

The front now boasts an extended grille with the Peugeot shield, body-colored accents on Allure and GT variants, and a black grille for a more aggressive look in the Peugeot Sport Engineered models.

Peugeot has also upgraded the front and rear lighting for all new 508 variants. Matrix LED headlights with the iconic 3-claw signature are now standard across all models, and the rear lights feature new Full 3D lights with the same signature and scrolling direction indicators.

5 Standout Details Of The Flagship Renault Rafale Coupe SUV

It is the first production car to sport the French carmaker’s new design language

Renault Rafale

The Renault Rafale marks the start of a new era for the French carmaker as its international flagship offering. This petrol hybrid SUV gets its name from Caudron-Renault Rafale, a monoplane which set a speed record in 1934 by flying at 445kmph. The coupe-styled Rafale SUV comes loaded with tech and here are its top five highlights:

Hybrid Powertrains

The Renault Rafale has been unveiled with a petrol hybrid powertrain which gets a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine (130PS/205Nm) that comes with two electric motors and an automatic gearbox. The main electric motor is powered by a 2kWh battery pack that generates 50PS/205Nm and the secondary motor has an output of 25PS/50Nm which is used to start the engine and power the gear changes. With this setup, the Rafale gets a combined power output of 200PS and claims a driving range of 1,100 km on a full tank.

The carmaker also announced that it will also bring a more powerful 300PS version of the Rafale later which will get an electric motor on the rear axle to make it a four-wheel drive SUV. This version will also come with a plug-in hybrid powertrain for increased economy and might also offer an EV-only range.

Sporty Seats With An Illuminated Logo

Inside the upmarket cabin of the top-spec Alpine variant of the Renault Rafale, you’ll see sporty gray and blue seats finished with both leather and fabric. These seats are made from 61 percent recycled Alcantara. But the highlight of these seats is an illuminated logo for the old Renault performance brand, Alpine, placed below the headrests. These logos light up and can change colour based on the car settings, something that we’ve seen in a car for the first time.

Moving Front Grille

Renault Rafale Moving Front Grille

Another cool feature this car has is its moving radiator grille which is made of small diamond-shaped elements, resembling the carmaker’s logo. Unlike the active grille seen in some luxury brands, there are no mechanical parts in the grille that will help it move. Instead, these small diamonds are placed in such a way that it creates an optical illusion and appears to move depending on the angle you are looking at it from.

A Glass Roof With Different Shades

Renault Rafale Glassroof

The Rafale gets a big panoramic glass roof which from the outside looks no different than a glass roof in any mass market car. But it offers a feature which takes the use of a glass roof to the next level. This smart glass roof has nine sequential darkening elements that can be controlled via google assistant. It comes with four modes: all light, all dark, dark in front with light in rear and light in front with dark in the rear.

Multi-purpose Rear Armrest

Renault Rafale Rear Armrest

Apart from performance, Renault has also focused on comfort and convenience for its passengers with the Rafale. One such example of this is the rear seat armrest which offers a lot of functionality. Other than having the basics of an armrest like two cupholders and space to rest your arms, it also gets two USB ports to charge your devices, space for tables and smartphones and two screen stands that fold out for you to rest your media devices at your preferred angle.

This degree of functionality is something usually found only in luxury vehicles. While the Rafale does not offer these comforts wrapped in exquisite materials or with fancy screens, the fold-out design of the rear armrest to expand its use is certainly distinctive.

Renault Rafale

The Renault Rafale will launch in the international market in 2024 and as of now, it is unlikely that this product will hit the shores of India. Let us know which of these features you found interesting and if you would want to see this car on Indian roads.
