Polestar 3 Designer Criticizes Cars Shaped Like A Potato For The Sake Of Aero

Improving the efficiency of electric vehicles (EVs) can be achieved in various ways. While reducing weight is a challenging task, achieving a sleeker shape is comparatively easier and helps increase the vehicle’s range. This is why many electric cars today have rounded edges, leading to bulbous shapes. Nahum Escobedo, the exterior design manager for the Polestar 3, isn’t particularly fond of relying too heavily on aerodynamics to maximize range.

During an interview with Australian magazine WhichCar at the local launch of the Polestar 3, Escobedo expressed his honest opinions about certain design trends in the automotive industry. He believes that sacrificing interesting design details for the sake of aerodynamics, which ultimately leads to cars resembling potatoes or jelly beans, is not the ideal approach. When asked about the aspects of car designs that annoy him, Escobedo responded by saying, “The roundness of cars that are becoming almost potato-shaped, or like a Jelly Bean because that’s perfect for aerodynamics. Obviously, we want to do something different.”

5 Features That Set Samsung Galaxy Phones Apart as Android Flagships

When it comes to Android phones, all of them come with a user interface, or ‘skin’. This is the interface that you interact with whenever you use your phone, whether it’s to make a call or launch an app. Samsung has developed its own interface called One UI, which is known for its extensive range of features. Galaxy phones from Samsung offer a plethora of productivity and efficiency features that cater to both power users and casual phone users.

One UI was introduced in 2018 and comes bundled with various Samsung apps that work seamlessly together, such as the calling system, clock, and contacts pages. Additionally, Samsung offers the Samsung DeX feature as part of the Galaxy build. DeX allows users to connect their smartphones to a screen, mouse, and keyboard, creating a desktop-like experience using just their Galaxy phone. Moreover, Samsung Galaxy users benefit from four years of software updates through the One UI package, which surpasses what other competitors provide.
