2023 Ferrari Cavalcade Classiche Video Shows Rare Race Cars, Retro GTs

The 2023 Ferrari Cavalcade Classiche took place in the beautiful region of Tuscany, surrounded by rolling hills, medieval villages, and picturesque vineyards. As the sixth edition of this exclusive event, held from September 20 to 24, it showcased some of Ferrari’s finest cars, both vintage and modern, each with its own fascinating history. A captivating 30-minute video captures many of these vehicles, creating a truly mesmerizing experience.

At the 2023 Cavalcade Classiche, attendees were treated to a stunning display of Ferraris from different eras, paying homage to the legendary automaker’s rich heritage. Among the iconic classics were several 166MMs, reminiscent of the car that triumphed in the 1949 Mille Miglia road race, a historic victory for the Scuderia Ferrari. The event also featured a 212 Inter, which succeeded the 166 as Ferrari’s favored race car in 1951, and a 750 Monza equipped with a powerful 3.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

Enthusiasts also had the pleasure of admiring numerous 250 GTs, including two-seat racers and luxurious GT Berlinetta Lusso models. Some were fortunate enough to spot open-top 250 GT Californias. From the 1960s, the spotlight shone on the 275 GTB4 and 275 GTS, as well as the 365 GTB4, fondly known as the Daytona, in celebration of Ferrari’s historic 1-2-3 finish in the 1967 Daytona 24-hour race. The video also features several F40s, adding to the excitement.

The participants of this year’s Ferrari Cavalcade Classiche embarked on three days of drives through the enchanting Tuscan countryside. The first day’s route included a coffee stop at Casole d’Elsa, a medieval village near Siena. The journey continued through picturesque Tuscan hills adorned with vineyards. On the second day, they drove around 140 miles along winding roads across different hills. The grand finale took participants northward, traversing the challenging Passo dell’ Abetone, renowned for its role in the Mille Miglia races.

McLaren 750S Makes its American Debut by Reaching 204 MPH on Public Road

Former McLaren and Ferrari F1 driver Stefan Johansson recently had the opportunity to drive a McLaren 750S on a beautiful road in Idaho. However, it wasn’t just a leisurely drive through the mountains. Johansson managed to reach speeds over 200 mph on a two-lane highway.

This impressive feat was McLaren’s way of announcing the official arrival of the 750S in North America. It’s worth noting that the road used for this speed demonstration was closed for the occasion. McLaren chose to showcase the car during the 2023 Sun Valley Tour de Force event, where a 3.2-mile stretch of asphalt in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area in Idaho is designated for unrestricted speed runs. In the past, a Bugatti Chiron managed to reach a top speed of 253 mph on the same road. Although Johansson didn’t quite match that level of insanity, he did manage to briefly bring the McLaren 750S to a speed of 204 mph – quite an achievement for the new supercar.
