After the tumultuous beginnings with the Fisker Karma, a PHEV luxury sports car, Henrik Fisker returned to the car scene with a reinvigorated brand and debuted the Ocean electric SUV. The Fisker Ocean was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in February 2022. Fast-forward to June 2023, EPA reported that the Fisker Ocean had a range of 360 miles and it sent waves in the EV market. Fisker is currently taking orders for the Ocean as it aims to compete with popular models such as the Tesla Model Y, Mustang Mach-E, Ioniq 5, and Kia EV6.
The Fisker Ocean is currently offered in four different models and the Ocean Extreme is the most powerful and top-spec model. The Ocean Sport has a 75 kW that helps produce 250 miles of range. It does 0-60 MPH in 6.9 seconds, but the model that has caught everyone’s attention is the Ocean Extreme. This model has a big 113-kW battery that will make 564 horsepower and 544 pound-feet of torque. It has 108 more horsepower and 65 pound-feet of torque than the Tesla Performance Model Y. The Ocean’s Striking Exterior, Practicality, And Unique Features
Front view of a 2023 Fisker Ocean
The Fisker Ocean’s exterior immediately takes you to the future with its striking headlights that seem to be inspired by the 2023 Range Rover Sport. A large grille, which you cannot mistake for some other manufacturer’s SUV as ‘OCEAN’ is spelled out right in the middle of the hood. On the sides, you will see 22-inch alloy wheels, wide arches, and flush door handles, as can be seen in various modern electric SUVs nowadays. The rear has sleek taillights, and we see a theme of sleek lines and lights in the front and rear to make this stand out in this ultramodern era of electric SUVs. The side and rear windows go down giving this electric SUV a convertible-like experience.

The Fisker Ocean has solar panels on its roof, which truly shows how far automobile engineering has come. Officials at Fisker claim that these solar panels (called SolarSky) will give the Ocean Extreme 2,000 miles of range in a year under ideal conditions. This is something that even the Tesla Model Y does not have, and the Ocean Extreme possesses this unique selling point. Furthermore, this EV comes with a power liftgate and a maximum cargo space of 45 cubic feet, and it is also more than the Tesla Model Y.
The Fisker Ocean’s Interior Is Premium And Tech-laden

The Fisker Ocean’s interior is simplistic yet filled with the latest technology. The rotating 17.1-inch screen does take all the attention inside the cabin. The screen can rotate landscape or portrait, depending on the driver’s preference, and we absolutely welcome this new innovation. The interior does have high-quality materials, which is something that Tesla vehicles often lack. The SolarSky roof provides a panoramic view for passengers, and this innovation is something we can truly get behind. If you are a music lover, then you are bound to love the Fisker Pulse Audio System. With 21 speakers inside the cabin and a 19-liter subwoofer you’re sure to get an immersive auditory experience that will give you the feeling of being inside a concert hall. This will certainly make you look forward to your journeys in this SUV.
Modern driver assistance and safety features are expected, and here’s what’s included:

Fi-Pilot is a Level 2 autonomous driving system, it is something that is becoming a standard in the EV industry. This is similar to GM’s Super Cruise, and it will brake, throttle, and even steer in some situations to make the driving experience much more relaxing and safer for you. Also, this SUV comes with modern safety features such as driver drowsiness attention and warning systems, evasive steering assistance, and intelligent speed assist.
The Fisker Ocean Extreme’s pricing starts at $68,999, and you can order yours today. It seems like Henrik Fisker and his team have learned valuable lessons from the failure of the Fisker brand when it was first launched. We are now seeing an approach that is much more refined and well-thought-out. Beating the Tesla Model Y’s EPA-tested range was crucial for this SUV to present itself to potential new customers who are looking for a change from conventional EV brands like Tesla, Kia, and Hyundai.
I recently experienced a broken chain when I was far away from my truck. Do you have any advice for this situation? It was a terrible experience because I didn’t have any tools to fix it, and no one in my group had a tow strap. My friend used his leg to push me, but there was a lot of sand. Now, I think my friend hates me! It took us hours to get back.
I’m going to be completely honest with you, Stewart. The majority of chain problems are caused by the lack of maintenance and failure to replace worn-out parts. You should inspect your driveline after every ride to check for wear on the links, excessive stretching, and degradation of the masterlink. By inspecting the links, you can assess the condition of your chain. Worn plates indicate significant usage and the need for a new system. This includes replacing both the front and rear sprockets! Don’t take shortcuts, and one last piece of advice: Always carry a tow strap, a mini chain breaker (Motion Pro offers these), and a spare master link!
