BMW is working on an updated version of the 1 Series, and recent spy photos show a partially camouflaged M135i variant in testing.

The current-generation BMW 1 Series was launched in 2019 with a switch to a front-wheel-drive platform. Although the new model will still have front-wheel drive as the standard option, it is unclear if BMW will make significant changes to the powertrain lineup.
