Fast N’ Loud was a long-running show where Richard Rawlings, along with mechanical expert Aaron Kaufman, worked on Gas Monkey Garage projects. However, in a March 2017 episode, Kaufman announced that he would be leaving the show. He expressed his desire to permanently separate himself from Gas Monkey Garage after returning from a break. This announcement was shared on the Discovery channel’s YouTube page.

Before the episode aired, in an interview with Art of Gears, Kaufman revealed his reasons for leaving the show. He explained that the pressures of television and the need to work quickly had become overwhelming. He wanted to work on larger car projects, while the show required him to focus on smaller, faster builds. Additionally, he mentioned that personal issues and professional differences also played a role in his decision.

In 2018, Kaufman started his own show called Shifting Gears With Aaron Kaufman. This allowed him to work on more elaborate and time-consuming car builds of his own design, which was in line with his ambitions. As a result, the dynamic duo of Rawlings and Kaufman disbanded, and it became apparent that the format of “Fast N’ Loud” was no longer suitable for Rawlings either.
