Watch This Minibike Project Attempt to Reach 100 Miles Per Hour

If you’re someone who loves going fast and building things, then you should definitely check out this minibike project by Cars and Cameras. While minibikes are often seen as fun toys or novelties, this project aims to push the limits and achieve a speed of 100 miles per hour.

This isn’t the first time Cars and Cameras has built a “world’s fastest mini bike.” Their previous project was based on the American Motorcyclist Association’s (AMA’s) regulations. However, this new project is a true minibike in every sense.

In the first episode, the team quickly assembled the minibike and got it ready for testing. The engine runs on methanol instead of gasoline and produces 39 horsepower from a 236cc engine at 10,200 rpm.

The minibike kit was provided by Go Power Sports, and the engine is a Tillotson racing power unit with a displacement of 236cc and a maximum rpm of 11,000. The team made several upgrades to ensure the bike could safely reach speeds of up to 120 miles per hour, including the addition of a steering damper to prevent high-speed wobbles, an extended frame, a fairing, and 10-inch machined aluminum wheels with flat track tires.

In episode two, the minibike came together nicely and was almost ready for its first real test. In episode three, the team took the bike to a 5,000-foot airstrip to see how fast it could go. The first run reached a speed of 80 miles per hour at 6,000 rpm. However, on subsequent runs, the bike struggled to go beyond 80 miles per hour due to a gearing issue and increased wind resistance.

The Cars and Cameras team is continuously working on improving the bike’s performance. While they haven’t reached the goal of 100 miles per hour yet, they are determined to push the boundaries and achieve it. Stay tuned to their YouTube channel for updates on their progress.
