Spot the Changes on the Facelifted Porsche Taycan

The facelifted Porsche Taycan is well into its development stage, undergoing testing on the Nurburgring and nearby roads. The camouflaging is limited to the headlights, giving us a clear view of the styling updates. The car is expected to be available for purchase in 2024.

The revised Taycan boasts a completely redesigned front end. The lower fascia now features angular sections that lead to inlets in the corners, creating a more complex shape. The bottom portion has a more horizontal layout. The headlights are now seamlessly integrated into the bodywork.

The profile of the Taycan remains largely unchanged. However, it sports a new set of wheels with five black spokes and a white rim.

At the rear, the Taycan receives a re-sculpted bumper with a slightly sharper appearance. The taillight strip still stretches across the entire width of the car.

BMW M5 Touring Spotted with Less Camouflage in Latest Spy Shots

The highly-anticipated BMW M5 Touring is currently in the advanced stages of development, and recently captured spy shots show the vehicle with less camouflage than previous sightings. It is anticipated that the official debut may take place towards the end of this year or early 2024, with sales of the wagon commencing in 2024.

At the front, the M5 Touring boasts a production-ready appearance. Notably, there is an aggressive front fascia featuring prominent, trapezoidal openings, along with air curtains positioned on the outer edges. The headlights possess vertical running lights for added visual appeal.

Sony’s Deep Earth Collection Adds New Colors to PS5 and DualSense

Starting October 4, PlayStation 5 owners will have the option to purchase the new Deep Earth Collection console covers and DualSense controllers. In the United States, the console covers will be priced at $59.99 and the new DualSense options at $74.99. The collection will also be available for purchase in Japan, the U.K., and multiple European countries. To make a purchase, customers will need to order directly from Sony’s PlayStation storefront or from select retailers, which have not been specified yet.

The controller remains unchanged in terms of functionality, with the only difference being the color. Similarly, the console covers are plastic shells that can be easily placed over the existing white cover of the console. Sony offers their own range of options, but there are also third-party designs available for those who prefer something different. One such option is a cover with a larger air vent for improved thermal management, as seen in this example.

From the archive: on this day in 1978

In 1978, amid a recession and Chrysler’s financial troubles in the US, the UK’s Labour government provided a £162.5m bailout (£1.2bn today) to save 25,000 jobs. This move angered the Tories.

However, Chrysler’s global losses compelled Lee Iacocca, the newly appointed CEO, to sell the European division.

Meanwhile, Peugeot, which had successfully turned Citroën around in 1974, saw an opportunity to expand by acquiring Chrysler Europe. This strategic move made PSA the world’s third-largest automaker. Unfortunately, the transformation of Chryslers into Talbots under PSA’s ownership didn’t last long, and the UK factories are no longer in operation. Today, both PSA and Chrysler are part of Stellantis.

The Ford Execubus shows up limousine luxury

Why spend £20,000 on a limousine when you can have a luxurious mobile office for £7,500? This was the concept behind the Execubus, a prototype created by Ford in collaboration with Star Vans of Bedford. The Execubus was designed to revolutionize executive travel with features such as shag-pile carpeting, reclining and swiveling velour armchairs around a conference table, reading lamps, a radio, tape player, dictating machine, and even a TV (although not in color). It also included a wardrobe at the rear for storing suits. While it may have seemed like a novelty at the time, such vans are now commonplace, offering the added benefit of a comfortable ride.

Ferrari’s unbeatable Daytona

If we were disappointed by Ferrari’s 365 GT4 in 1975, we didn’t voice our opinion. However, when it evolved into the 512 BB, we could no longer stay silent. Despite significant performance improvements, the flat-12 “Boxer” engine still fell short compared to the old 365 GTB/4 “Daytona.” Former F1 racer John Miles stated that the V12-powered Daytona had to be regarded as the greatest GT car of all time. To support his claim, he borrowed Nick Mason’s car and concluded, “Even today, no road car can match its combination of looks, performance, stability, and practicality.”

This Amazing Droptail Roadster Redefines Minimalism with Rolls-Royce Style

The automaker introduces La Rose Noire, a stunning roadster featuring a deep red paint color named True Love. It took an incredible 150 layers to achieve the perfect shade. Inside, the vehicle boasts 1,603 hand-inlaid wood pieces, adding a touch of elegance. However, the true masterpiece of La Rose Noire is the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch, which alone costs around $200,000.

Equipped with 22-inch wheels painted in a color named Mystery, La Rose Noire flaunts the iconic rear-hinged doors commonly found in Rolls-Royce models. The exact price of the Droptail remains undisclosed. However, considering the limited production of only four units and the inclusion of a $200,000 watch, affordability is not a trait associated with this vehicle. It seems that only those with royal associations may have the chance to own one. To put it in perspective, the previous car in the Coachbuild series, the Boat Tail, had an estimated cost of $25 million.

Despite its exorbitant price, the Droptail represents Rolls-Royce’s display of self-control by producing an ultra-exclusive car. It goes beyond being a luxury vehicle and enters the realm of extraordinary.

Exploring the Scottish Highlands with the next-generation MINI Countryman

Lochearnhead. The Scottish Highlands, with their deep green meadows, brilliant sun, and frequent rain showers, are a captivating natural wonderland. This region, rich in history, is characterized by approximately 1,000-meter-high mountains called Munros, rivers, and crystal-clear lakes called lochs. Loch Lomond, the largest lake in the United Kingdom, is located in the national park of the same name and offers the perfect destination for challenging test drives with the adventurous third-generation MINI Countryman.

From the rustic Castle Hill to the wild world of the Munros. The tour begins in the small town of Stirling, where visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Highlands from Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s largest and most important castles. Traveling north along the A84 and A85, surrounded by dense forests and deep blue lakes, you reach the village of Mid Lix. From here, a detour along the A827 takes you to the northeastern mountain range, offering a winding route through the Munros, where the MINI Countryman can showcase its comfortable and sporty driving dynamics.

Noteworthy is the Ben Lawers, one of the highest Munros in the region, with an impressive dam that holds back 344 meters of water from surrounding mountain rivers. The MINI Countryman with its SAV presence perfectly complements Scotland’s unspoiled landscape, providing ample space in the boot for all the necessary hiking equipment.

On the trail of James Bond. The Scottish Highlands, with their breathtaking ups and downs, constantly inspire visitors’ curiosity to explore. Traveling northwest on the A82, you’ll pass through the Glencoe Mountain Range, where the winding road follows numerous rivers that flow into the stunning loch landscape of Lochan na h-Achlaise. Beyond the historic Bridge of Orchy, a narrow path leads south along the wild River Etive, famous for being one of the most challenging white water kayaking routes in Scotland. This route was also featured in the film “James Bond: Skyfall,” where Daniel Craig’s 007 embarked on a thrilling ride to evade pursuers. On the return journey south, the MINI Countryman ALL4 with its off-road tires is undoubtedly better suited for the rugged terrain than the British sports cars preferred by the world’s most famous agent.

Natural beauty and Atlantic delicacies. Continuing on the A82 towards Arrochar, you’ll encounter the picturesque Falloch waterfalls, offering a unique viewpoint. As you head south, Loch Lomond is always visible on the left, until the branching A83 leads west to Loch Fyne. Known as the northernmost spur of the Clyde Fjord, Loch Fyne cuts deep into the coast from the Atlantic. Its fresh and nutrient-rich waters make it an ideal breeding ground for oysters and a prime fishing spot for numerous fish species. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Loch Fyne Oysterbar at the end of this adventurous discovery tour, where you can savor the results of these abundant natural resources while enjoying panoramic views of the sea and mountains.
