These 7 Cars Sold In India Get A Factory-fitted Dashcam

Except with the Hyundai Exter and Hyundai Venue N Line, the dashcam is being offered with special edition variants of the other models

A dashcam is an essential feature in a country like India, where various incidents can occur that may pose a threat to you or your car. It provides concrete evidence by recording what exactly happened at the scene, which can save you from any trouble you might encounter. Several automakers, including Hyundai, Renault, and Skoda, now offer a factory-fitted dashcam with select models. Let’s take a closer look at each of these models.

Hyundai Exter

Hyundai Exter

The trend of offering a factory-fitted dashcam started with the launch of the Hyundai Exter in July. The Exter comes with a dual-camera setup dashcam that captures the view ahead as well as the cabin. This feature is exclusively available in the top-spec SX(O) Connect variant of the micro SUV, with prices ranging from Rs 9.32 lakh to Rs 10.10 lakh.

Renault Triber

The Renault Triber recently received an ‘Urban Night’ edition for the festive season, which includes a new exterior shade and a 9.66-inch Smart View monitor. This monitor serves as both an interior rear-view mirror (IRVM) with adjustable angles and a dashcam with front and rear cameras. It also features wireless smartphone connectivity for easy content download. This special edition is based on the top-spec RXZ variant of the Triber, and customers need to pay an additional Rs 14,999 over the top-spec variant price. Only 300 units of the Renault Triber Urban Black edition will be available.

Skoda Slavia

Skoda recently introduced a more affordable ‘Ambition Plus’ mid-spec variant of the Slavia, just in time for the festive season. Along with minor cosmetic changes, this variant of the Slavia also comes with a built-in dashcam. However, unlike other models on this list, it features a single camera setup to record the view ahead. The Ambition Plus variant of the Skoda Slavia is priced from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 13.79 lakh.

Hyundai Venue

The Hyundai Venue recently introduced the new ‘Knight Edition,’ which features an all-black treatment inside and outside and is equipped with a dual-camera dashcam. The Venue Knight edition is priced from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 13.48 lakh, while the Venue N Line’s N6 variant is priced at Rs 12 lakh to Rs 12.82 lakh.

These are the seven mass-market models that come with a factory-fitted dashcam, not as an accessory. However, most of them are limited-edition models. Watch BMW 3 Series Crash Into Wall at 128 MPH After Police Pursuit

A dramatic dashcam video captured the moment when an Arkansas State Police trooper used a pit maneuver to stop a fleeing BMW, causing it to slam into a highway wall at a speed of 128 miles per hour. The incident took place on Interstate 40, which connects Memphis, Tennessee, to the state’s capital.

The video, which includes a date and time overlay, indicates that the incident occurred just before midnight on Monday, August 28, in the West Memphis, Arkansas area. It started when ASP Trooper Spencer Morris noticed a black BMW 3 Series E46 convertible with a faulty headlight.

Morris initially pulled over the BMW on the I-40 entrance ramp, but as he approached the vehicle on the passenger side, the driver sped off. Morris then chased the BMW down I-40, with both cars reaching speeds over 120 mph and narrowly avoiding other vehicles. When the road ahead was clear, Morris performed a pit maneuver by positioning his police cruiser along the rear passenger fender of the BMW.

As a result, the convertible’s passenger side collided with the front end of the police cruiser, causing the car to spin across the highway and collide with the wall, thereby ending the pursuit. The camera angle does not show the extent of damage to the vehicle, but the driver managed to escape without injuries. Authorities took him into custody and transported him to the Crittenden County Detention Center.

In the video description, it is stated that Damon Jones, the BMW driver, was charged with multiple offenses, including a defective headlight, reckless driving, speeding, felony fleeing, failure to register a vehicle, no insurance, and driving on a suspended license. Motor1.com reached out to the Arkansas State Police Public Information Office for additional information about the incident.

This dashcam video serves as a reminder that attempting to flee from the police is never a wise decision. Law enforcement agencies have advanced technology and tactics to apprehend fleeing suspects, and videos like these provide insight into the risks associated with such actions.

This particular chase had the potential to end in a tragic manner, with the BMW crashing into innocent motorists or veering off the highway. Not long ago, the Arkansas State Police had to pursue a Toyota Prius that was fleeing at speeds exceeding 100 mph.

Dashcam Footage Shows Ex-Lewis Hamilton Pagani Zonda Crash In UK Tunnel

A dashcam video posted on Instagram by the user @wearethekardachshunds shows the location and circumstances of the crash involving an ex-Lewis Hamilton Pagani Zonda 760 LH. The incident occurred earlier this week and resulted in significant damage to the purple supercar.

In the embedded video below, the unique Italian V12-powered vehicle can be seen driving on the right lane of the A55 expressway in Conwy, North Wales. As the car enters the Penmaenbach tunnel, the driver accelerates, causing the powerful 7.3-liter naturally-aspirated engine to roar. However, moments later, the car collides with the left-hand wall of the tunnel and bounces off into the right wall before coming to a stop.

The dashcam footage shows that the incident happened very quickly, and by the time the camera-equipped car reached the scene, the driver was already outside inspecting the damage. The driver confirmed that they were unhurt when asked.

A few days ago, we reported on the crash and included several photos taken by Ethan Gale at the scene. These photos reveal the extensive damage to the 760-horsepower Pagani Zonda LH, including misaligned front wheels, a broken rear axle, a cracked windshield, damaged headlights, and broken carbon fiber body panels.

The Pagani Zonda 760 LH, purchased by seven-time Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton in 2012, is one of only five units of the 760 series built by Pagani, and it is the only one equipped with a manual transmission.

Dramatic Video Shows SUV Plunging into Washed-Out Bridge During Typhoon Doksuri

A dashcam video captured the terrifying moment when an SUV drove into a hole on a washed-out bridge in Harbin, China. The incident occurred during the heavy rainfall caused by Typhoon Doksuri in the northeastern part of the country. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The video, taken on a foggy day, starts with the road appearing normal. However, a sudden gap appears on the horizon. The dashcam recording shows a white SUV in the fast lane, seemingly unaware of the hole as there is no sign of brake lights.

The footage then transitions to the aftermath of the incident. Rescuers can be seen on the scene, although the presence of bystanders complicates the view. They appear to be pulling someone out of the hole, and another vehicle is briefly visible in the crater.

Harbin, the capital of China’s Heilongjiang province, experienced severe storms and flooding due to Typhoon Doksuri. According to Reuters, the region received over 3.9 inches of rain in a few hours. As a result, more than 53,000 people had to be evacuated due to rising water levels in reservoirs and rivers, as reported by the Associated Press.

The typhoon also caused damage in other parts of China. Beijing broke a 140-year record for weekly rainfall, resulting in at least 10 deaths and 18 missing people, according to BBC News.

Typhoon Doksuri initially made landfall in the Philippines, sinking a ferry and resulting in the loss of 26 lives. In Taiwan, the storm brought heavy rainfall of up to 3.3 feet in some areas, causing power outages.

Forecasters predict that Tropical Storm Khanun could bring more rain to the areas affected by Typhoon Doksuri. The storm has already impacted South Korea and Japan, as reported by The Independent.
