The Exter is available in five broad variants – EX, S, SX, SX (O), and SX (O) Connect

The Hyundai Exter was recently launched as the carmaker’s entry in the micro SUV segment. While it rivals the Tata Punch, it can also be seen as an alternative to the Maruti Ignis, Citroen C3, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, and the Maruti Fronx. The introductory prices of the Exter range from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Exter has a 1.2-litre petrol engine, which generates 83PS and 114Nm of torque. It comes with a choice of 5-speed manual and AMT transmissions. The CNG variants of the Exter offer an efficiency of 27.1km/kg but are available only with manual transmission.

The Exter is available in five variants – EX, S, SX, SX (O), and SX (O) Connect. Let’s take a look at the features offered by each variant.

Hyundai Exter EX Variant

Price – Rs 6 lakh

The Exter EX variant comes with the following features:

The Exter EX variant emphasizes vehicle safety by offering six airbags as standard. It also features driver seat height adjustment and a digital instrument cluster. However, it lacks rear power windows, ISOFIX child seat mounts, USB chargers, and a basic Bluetooth system. Additional safety features like electronic stability control, hill start assist, and vehicle stability management can be added by choosing the EX(O) variant for an extra cost of Rs 25,000.

Hyundai Exter S Variant

Price – Rs 7.27 lakh to Rs 7.97 lakh

The Exter S variant offers the following additional features over the EX variant:

The Exter S variant adds rear AC vents, rear power windows, and driver auto down window. It also includes features like an 8-inch touchscreen system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and steering mounted controls. However, it does not offer advanced safety features like electronic stability control and hill hold assist, which are available on the S(O) variant.

Hyundai Exter SX Variant

Price – Rs 8 lakh to Rs 8.68 lakh

The Exter SX variant offers the following features over the S variant:

The Exter SX variant comes with additional features like sporty metal pedals (AMT), fabric + leatherette seats, and an electric sunroof. It also includes paddle shifters (AMT), cruise control (Petrol), and a rear parking camera. However, advanced safety features like electronic stability control, hill hold assist, and vehicle stability management are available only on the S(O) variant.

Hyundai Exter SX (O) Variant

Price – Rs 8.64 lakh to Rs 9.32 lakh

The Exter SX (O) variant offers these additional features:

The Exter SX (O) variant offers additional features like 15-inch dual-tone alloys and a rear spoiler. It also includes a push-button start-stop system, wireless phone charger, and a cooled glove box. However, advanced safety features like electronic stability control, hill hold assist, and vehicle stability management are available only on the S(O) variant.

Hyundai Exter SX (O) Connect

Price – Rs 9.32 lakh to Rs 10 lakh

The Exter SX (O) Connect variant offers these additional features:

The Exter SX (O) Connect variant comes with front and rear mud guards as well as a dual camera dash cam. It also offers the same infotainment system as the SX (O) variant, but in HD quality and with connected car technology including Alexa compatibility.
