Google Ends Pixel Pass Subscription before Pixel 8 Launch

Google has announced that new subscribers will no longer be able to sign up for Pixel Pass, and no alternative options have been announced yet. Existing Pixel Pass subscribers may be concerned about how this change will affect them.

However, if you are already a part of Pixel Pass, there’s no need to worry. Google assures that all current subscriptions will continue as normal until their expiration dates, which will be two years from the date your most recent Pixel Pass device was shipped to you. It’s important to note that this refers to the shipping date, not the date of delivery or activation. So, if you’re unsure, check your old emails or notifications to find the shipping date. During this two-year period, all Pixel Pass benefits and support updates will continue, and other services like Google One, Play Pass, and YouTube Premium will automatically renew at a discounted rate. Google will share this rate with subscribers closer to the renewal date, unless you choose to cancel these services.

As the expiration date approaches, you will receive email notifications with information about your options for purchasing new devices. Additionally, the expiration of your Pixel Pass subscription indicates that you have fully paid off your Pixel device, and any contracts for Google Preferred Care or Google Fi Wireless device protection will also come to an end.
