Ford Maverick Spy Shots Suggest High-Performance Model On The Way

We are aware that Ford has some plans for the Maverick. The company announced this earlier in the month, but did not provide any specifics. There have been ongoing rumors for over a year about a high-performance version of the small pickup, possibly labeled as ST. Now, new spy shots show a Maverick on the move with some interesting details on display.

This truck clearly has a customized exhaust system. Such modifications at the back are often seen on vehicles undergoing emissions testing. This suggests some kind of change under the hood, whether it’s more power or a different engine altogether. The most powerful Maverick currently has a turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, producing 250 horsepower. While it’s not slow, a modest power boost would make sense if we are indeed looking at a Maverick ST.
