BMW M5 Touring Spotted in Spy Photos, Impressive Design Revealed

The BMW M5 E61, a high-performance wagon in the 5 Series lineup, was discontinued in 2010. For over a decade, BMW had no go-fast wagon version available. However, in June of this year, the Munich-based automaker hinted at the return of the M5 Touring. Now, for the first time, the speedy wagon has been caught testing on public roads. Our spy photographers recently captured these photos in Germany, and our initial impressions are that the vehicle looks massive and impressive.

BMW M boss Frank van Meel had mentioned earlier that an M5 Touring would be seen on the Nurburgring, and we are delighted to bring you the very first spy photos of this upcoming performance wagon. Although the prototype is camouflaged, the production body and lights are visible. The disguise cannot fully conceal the muscular bumpers and side skirts, and the large 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels appear to be accommodated by wider wheel arches.
