Introducing the BMW iX1 eDrive20: A Premium Entry into Electric Mobility

Munich. BMW continues to expand its lineup of electric vehicles with the introduction of the all-new BMW iX1 eDrive20. This all-electric variant of the new Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) in the premium compact segment offers an attractive and economical entry into the world of premium electric mobility. Powered by an electric motor with a maximum output of 150 kW/204 hp, the BMW iX1 eDrive20 has a range of 430 to 475 kilometers, making it a practical and efficient choice for daily driving.

By offering more electric vehicle options in the premium compact segment, BMW is making emission-free driving accessible to a wider range of consumers and contributing to the growth of e-mobility. The BMW iX1 eDrive20 will be available starting in November 2023 with a recommended retail price of 47,900 euros (incl. VAT). It will be produced at the BMW Group plant in Regensburg, just like the BMW iX1 xDrive30.

Efficient Electric Drive, Advanced Charging Technology, Impressive Range.

The BMW iX1 eDrive20 utilizes the latest fifth generation BMW eDrive technology, which includes a highly integrated drive unit on the front axle. With an instantaneous maximum torque of 247 Nm and a maximum output of 150 kW/204 hp, the compact SAV can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and has a top speed of 170 km/h. The high-voltage battery, located in the vehicle floor for space-saving purposes, has a usable energy content of 64.7 kWh. It offers excellent range capabilities, and the Combined Charging Unit allows for convenient and fast charging.

With standard AC charging, the high-voltage battery can be fully charged from zero to 100 percent capacity within 6.5 hours. Optional three-phase AC charging reduces the charging time to 3 hours and 45 minutes. The battery can also be charged using direct current with a power of up to 130 kW, allowing for a 10 to 80 percent charge in just 29 minutes at a fast charging station. The efficient charging software and anticipatory thermal management contribute to shorter charging times and optimal battery performance.
