2023 Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials Canceled For Second Year In A Row

The 2023 Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials, an official Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) Land Speed World Records event, has been canceled for the second year in a row. Last year, the event was canceled due to flooding in the area. Despite closely monitoring the conditions, organizers determined that the course conditions would not allow the event to take place as scheduled. This year, the event has been canceled again due to significant rain resulting from Hurricane Hilary. The Bonneville Salt Flats are currently covered in water, making it impossible for the event to proceed. This news is disappointing for the motorcycle land speed racing community and the FIM. Many participants had planned to travel back from the 2023 Bolivia Speed Trials to attend the Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials. The organizers express their disappointment and assure everyone that they look forward to bringing back world-class FIM and AMA motorcycle land speed racing to the Bonneville Salt Flats in the future. Let’s hope for smoother conditions in 2024.
