Even before its arrival on UK roads, the new Volvo EX30 has already received its first major awards. It has been named Car of the Year by The Sun and Small SUV/Crossover of the Year at the News UK Motor Awards, positioning it as the top choice in the small SUV segment. The EX30, a fully electric vehicle, is set to arrive in early 2024.

The recent awards highlight the key attributes that make the EX30 stand out, including its choice of electric powertrains, cutting-edge technology, and Volvo’s commitment to quality, safety, and design. What sets it apart is its accessible price, making it an attractive option for buyers.

Rob Gill, The Sun Motors Editor, expressed his confidence in the success of the EX30, stating “The EX30 is everything you expect a modern Volvo to be – safe, Scandi cool, and sustainable – at a price you’d never expect. The EX30 is going to be a huge hit.”

The News UK Small SUV/Crossover award reflects the positive reception the EX30 has received from various media platforms, including The Sunday Times. Nick Rufford, Motoring Editor at The Sunday Times, commented on the EX30’s appeal, stating “Savvy buyers have been holding out for an electric SUV that’s smart looking, has vim and zest, and doesn’t break the bank. This mini-Volvo’s sub-£34,000 starting price undercuts not only its electric rivals but plenty of petrol SUVs, too.”

Kristian Elvefors, Volvo Car UK Managing Director, expressed his enthusiasm for the EX30’s success, emphasizing its importance in reshaping perceptions of electric vehicles and solidifying Volvo’s leadership in electrified motoring.

The Volvo EX30 is the smallest SUV ever introduced by Volvo and is built on a specially designed electric vehicle platform. It offers three electric powertrain options: a Single Motor version with 272hp and a 51kWh battery, a Single Motor Extended Range with a larger 69kWh battery, and a Twin Motor Performance model with 428hp and a 69kWh battery. The EX30 has a driving range of up to 296 miles and can be charged from 10 to 80% capacity in less than 30 minutes.

The EX30 is available in two equipment grades: Plus and Ultra. Both options focus on seamless connectivity, digital integration, smart functionality, safety, comfort, and convenience, keeping in tune with the preferences of modern consumers.

Prices for the EX30 start at £33,795 for the Single Motor versions and £40,995 for the Twin Motor Performance models. The purchase price includes a comprehensive care package covering the first three years/60,000 miles, which includes scheduled servicing and wear-and-tear items.
