Make Your Own Music With This Raspberry Pi Four-Track Looper Project

If you’re new to working with wiring or need step-by-step instructions, ThePsychotenuse has created an illustration to guide you through the process. You can find it here. Alternatively, you can watch a video demonstration if you prefer. To get started, you’ll need a USB soundcard, eight push-to-connect buttons, and eight LED lights.

You can find affordable button sets, such as a pack of 25, on DigiKey. While optional, the LED lights will make it easier to see which buttons are active. The YouTuber provides a detailed list of the required components as well as the program that needs to be installed on your Raspberry Pi for everything to work. If you already have a Pi, this project is relatively inexpensive to try out, which is a bonus.

This project is perfect for individuals interested in pursuing music as a side hobby. Professionals may prefer purchasing a dedicated looper instead, but if you have an extra Raspberry Pi lying around, this DIY approach is worth considering.
