PEUGEOT AND THE POLICE: 25 YEARS OF SERVICE

PEUGEOT has been supplying vehicles to Police Authorities across the UK for over 25 years. The latest additions to the police fleet are the 308 and 308 SW models.

PEUGEOT UK is proud to have supported UK Police Authorities for over a quarter of a century, with more than 1,700 vehicles registered so far in 2023. Over half of these vehicles are PEUGEOT 308 and 308 SW models, and almost 60% of them are marked cars used as ‘General Purpose Patrol Vehicles’.

PEUGEOT works with selected conversion partners across the UK, including its own Special Vehicle Operations division in Coventry, to design and test all turnkey conversions. This ensures conformity and guarantees the highest quality and safety standards are achieved. Regular engagement with all UK Police Authorities is essential to ensure that the turnkey vehicles are fit for the various operational requirements.

The PEUGEOT 308 and 308 SW are the latest models to join the police fleet, featuring the brand’s distinctive design and latest-generation i-Cockpit® interior. They were the first models to wear the brand’s new coat of arms, incorporating radar sensors for autonomous driving aids, resulting in a cleaner and sleeker look.

In addition to the 308 and 308 SW, PEUGEOT also supplies Police Authorities with other models from its range, including EXPERT vans, 208, 3008 & 5008 models. The EXPERT vans are primarily used as prisoner transport vehicles.

Huw Jones, Fleet Manager at North Wales Police, expressed confidence in the new 308, stating that their previous experience with PEUGEOT models ensures it will be a reliable addition to their fleet. He also appreciated PEUGEOT’s commitment and ongoing support to keep police vehicles on the road.

Adam Wood, Managing Director of PEUGEOT UK, expressed pride in the brand’s long-standing support for public services and the use of PEUGEOT vehicles by Police Authorities throughout the country. He sees the continued trust in PEUGEOT models as a testament to the quality, robustness, and reliability of the vehicles.

Richard Abbott, Head of Specialist Fleet at Stellantis, celebrated the long-standing relationship with Police Authorities and highlighted the high-quality conversions carried out through their Special Vehicle Operations division and trusted conversion partners.

PEUGEOT is also collaborating with multiple Police Authorities to trial electric vehicles from across its model range. By 2025, PEUGEOT aims to have a 100% electric version available across its entire line-up and plans to exclusively sell electric vehicles in the UK by 2030.
