This Chinese Military-Inspired SUV Has an Optional $14,000 Drone

The Chinese state-owned automaker Dongfeng, established in 1969, is not well-known in the United States. Although the company does not sell any models in the US, a particular vehicle might be well-suited for the SUV-hungry market. Introducing the M-Hero 917, the GMC Hummer’s younger but more sinister counterpart.

Before diving into details about the M-Hero 917, a bit of background is necessary. M-Hero, which roughly translates to “fierce warrior”, is a high-end off-road brand owned by Dongfeng, and the 917 represents its top-of-the-line model. Unveiled last year, it took several months for the manufacturer to obtain production approval from Chinese authorities. Finally, in April of this year, it began rolling off the assembly lines, and recently, the off-roader was captured on film by our friends at Wheelsboy.
