15 Cars That Became Instant Classics

One of the cars that quickly became a classic was the Aston Martin DB5, famously driven by Sean Connery in the James Bond movie “Goldfinger.” It was one of the first cars to play a significant role in a movie, even before the likes of “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” and “Herbie the Love Bug.”

The Aston Martin DB5 had a stylish design with its sleek headlamps, wire wheels, chrome accents, and various air intakes. It perfectly combined sportiness with elegance. Inside the car, there were seven gauges in front of the driver, plenty of chrome details, and a wooden steering wheel. The car was equipped with a 4-liter, straight-six engine, allowing it to reach speeds of up to 142 mph and achieve a 0-60 time of just over seven seconds.

Even without the famous Bond gadgets like the oil slick, tire slashers, machine guns, and ejector seat, the DB5 was still an inspiring car. When it was first released, it had a price tag of around £4,175, which was quite expensive compared to the average UK house price of £2,748 in 1963. However, due to its iconic status, rarity, and timeless beauty, a well-maintained DB5 can now fetch over a million dollars.
