We’ve seen lots of challenging off-road rescues, but this one is among the most dramatic and frightening. After tumbling down a massive cliff, this Ram 1500 TRX had to be pulled out of a ravine. Despite the truck’s severe damage, the occupants miraculously survived.

The recovery was handled by Moab Motorsports, and it took place in Utah’s legendary Moab region. The company’s Trail Mater YouTube channel documented the harrowing incident. The video shows the truck lying amidst rocks at the base of the cliff, highlighting the perilous nature of the crash.

Recovering the wrecked TRX was not a simple task. Special permissions were needed to access the area where the truck landed. Moab Motorsports had to submit a plan to reach and recover the vehicle while minimizing environmental impact. After the recovery, efforts were made to conceal their path to discourage unauthorized access to the area.

The 34-minute video documents the successful recovery. The first step involved dragging the TRX up the rock-strewn canyon, minimizing further damage to the landscape. The next phase saw the company’s off-road towing rig in action, navigating the challenging terrain to bring the Ram back to the road for standard tow truck assistance.

Despite the challenges, Moab Motorsports managed to recover the TRX without causing further harm to the environment. The driver and his dog, who were injured in the crash, are expected to make a full recovery. Remarkably, the company offered the recovery services free of charge, highlighting their commitment to helping those in need.
