But for ATP tennis star Hubert (Hubi) Hurkacz, this dream turned into an exhilarating reality, as he recently had the chance to get behind the wheel of the McLaren 765LT Spider. Growing up in Wroclaw, Poland, Hurkacz’s bedroom wall was decorated with the iconic McLaren P1 hypercar, specifically the P1 OOV from McLaren’s heritage fleet. Thanks to McLaren Beverly Hills and O’Gara Motorsports division, and in collaboration with McLaren, The Americas at The Thermal Club, a private track in California, Hurkacz’s bucket list wish came to life. Hubi was provided a day of expert tuition driving the pinnacle of McLaren’s ‘Longtail’ performance, the 765LT Spider, around the desert track, reaching speeds comparable to his over 150mph tennis serves.

The experience for Hurkacz was nothing short of spectacular. From admiring the P1 on his wall in Poland to pushing the 765LT to its limits on a track, he discovered the grip, balance, and incredible speed of McLaren’s track-ready supercar.
