BMW reinvents itself: The BMW Vision Neue Klasse.

The BMW Group is showcasing its latest design concept, the BMW Vision Neue Klasse, which gives a glimpse into the next generation of vehicles from its core BMW brand. The Neue Klasse combines innovation in electrification, digitalization, and circularity, positioning BMW ahead of the future. It is set to hit the roads in 2025, marking a new era for the brand.

The Vision Vehicle will be unveiled at the IAA Mobility 2023 International Motor Show in Munich. Its design language features clean lines and minimalistic touches that accentuate iconic elements like the BMW kidney grille and Hofmeister kink. Inside, the next generation of BMW iDrive offers a seamless digital user experience that merges real and virtual worlds. The vehicle also boasts increased use of secondary raw materials, resource-efficient production, and a fully-electric drive train with sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology, resulting in a reduced carbon footprint across its lifecycle.

The Neue Klasse represents a significant leap forward in technology, boasting 30% more range, 30% faster charging, and 25% more efficiency. The design is equally futuristic, reflecting BMW’s commitment to innovation. The streamlined exterior design is complemented by powerful wheel arches, a retracted greenhouse, and a distinctive “shark nose” front-end. The interior features bright cord fabrics, a light-colored instrument panel, and a spacious layout that optimizes legroom.

The next generation of BMW iDrive focuses on a user-oriented experience, with features like BMW Panoramic Vision and enhanced BMW Head-Up Display. The driver and front passenger have access to information displayed on the Panoramic Vision, creating a shared user experience. The interior lighting and graphic elements are coordinated to enhance the user experience, which can be personalized using My Modes.

The Neue Klasse also prioritizes sustainability in its production process. It is manufactured at a new plant in Debrecen, using a CO2-reduced production method and a higher percentage of raw and secondary materials produced with reduced CO2 emissions. The vehicle’s efficiency is further optimized through weight reduction, improved air and rolling resistance, and intelligent heat management.

The BMW Vision Neue Klasse represents the brand’s commitment to electrification, digitalization, and circularity. It brings together the BMW Group’s technological innovations and sets the stage for a new era of individual mobility that is environmentally friendly, digitally enhanced, and guarantees the signature BMW driving pleasure for future generations.

BMW Teases Vision Neue Klasse Concept’s Light-Up Grille Ahead Of Debut

BMW is set to unveil the Vision Neue Klasse concept on September 2 as a preview of its upcoming electric platform. A teaser video has been released, showcasing a portion of the front fascia and the illuminated grille. The grille on the new concept is black and features unique lighting that mimics breathing, with rows of lights illuminating from the bottom and extinguishing from the top. This aligns with BMW’s “Inhale innovation, exhale transformation” comment. BMW plans to release six new models on the Neue Klasse platform within 24 months, starting with a sedan and followed by a compact SUV. The platform will offer vehicles with varying horsepower and battery pack sizes, and will feature the company’s Gen 6 battery technology for cost reduction and improved range. Production of the Neue Klasse will begin in 2025 in Hungary and expand to China, Germany, and Mexico in the following years. The Vision Neue Klasse concept will be one of several vehicles unveiled by BMW Group at the IAA Mobility auto show in Munich.
